Re: Cracking Valves - Am I doing something wrong?

Agree, it seems like a bad batch, you are not doing anything wrong, and they should last way longer, probably the kites full lifetime :D

Re: Kite sugestions for foiling in 15 knots

Peak 4 is a wave kite, and not very good for much else, except of course, alpine skiing. I’d guess you could probably drop from your soul 12 down to a soul 8. Disagree. Yes it is personal what you prefer - some come from high performance racekites, and of course prefer to ride with these types no m...

Re: Winging upwind...

Board size doesn't matter at all.

The only reason you think so, is because when you switch down to a smaller board, time has passed and you are a better rider now, maybe also, without knowing, being more selective with the conditions you choose

Re: Winging upwind...

Time!!! That's all there is to it, no big secrets. When new and you can foil comfortably, you most often can not go upwind well. But it will come over time. You can either ride slow and pinch upwind, or you can ride faster just a tad lower angle - both will get you upwind quite fast, eventhough two ...

Re: Naish 50-55 bar on 7m kite?

Depends on your style. On surfboards a long bar works perfect on 5-6-7 m2 kites. For hydrofoil also. If you are easily scared when riding, a shorter bar is better, and if you ride freestyle with handle passes, most prefer a shorter bar. Also personal preference apart from above, so you won't go tota...

It means the helmet catching water (drag) in a crash and giving whiplash effects for potential neck injury.

Snip...
Thanks, so bucketing and drag is basically the same :D

Didn't know the word, and thought the headline was two different things.

Re: tacking with long lines

Yes, fly the kite high first, go with speed, then pull the kite over before you start the 360. Making a carving 360 in 7 knots of wind with a 12 m2 strutless on 30 m lines is fun  A 180 should be easier. The long lines makes carving so much better, smooth consistent power all the way round...

Re: Board shorts?

It’s amazing to me that this is the most interesting kiting topic we can think of to talk about on here. I don’t even wear boardshorts when it’s warm. I wear 2mm wetsuit shorts because I use a seat harness and tight-fitting shorts don’t bunch up under it. Ha haa, agree, it must be "cucumber time" a...
