Re: Low volume/twin tip construction boards

I disagree, there is no substitute for a bit longer board when light winds for a given kite. Everything gets easier and lowend better. Also, with straps you probably don't want a huge slow foil wing, and even if, it won't make up for lost length in lulls or low wind. I have super thin boards differe...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 5 is here

My first Peak just arrived today (Peak5 8m) for hydrofoiling. What is the preferred landing method with a single skin? Backstall? Fly to edge of wind window and land on leading edge? Wingtip landing? Thanks! Backstall, or at the end of the day, just fly it sideways into the ground. The 8 works in 8...

Re: Industry interest in Promoting Wingsurfing

I have no idea why you would need several masts and fuselages and foil wings? Even experienced good riders most often don't have that.... Yes you need two foil wings as a bit bigger for winging, and higher AR. And two boards yes, but otherwise one can use the same mast and fuselage and stab. 8) Peter

Re: Industry interest in Promoting Wingsurfing

Snip... My hydrofoiling equipment will last years, 1 kite, 1 board, 2 foils... Wingsurfing: lessons, several boards, several wings, at least 2 foils, etc, etc. Industry must LOVE a new and evolving equipment sport, where individual evolution also requieres frequently changing gear... So, instead of...

Re: Foiling in shallow water

It is difficult... Unless, as most say, really powered, it can not be done. You can start in water with same depth as your foil - sometimes - sometimes not, if powered lightly for normal carving or waveriding... But often board and foil will sink so not possible. When sufficiently powered - you can ...

Re: Short lines for better high end

My initial reasoning was to reduce the number of kites that I own (or prevent me from needing to buy another kite anyway). It doesn't sound like its going to do that. As it is I generally prefer to be flying long lines (26-28m) on my 9m rather than normal length so it sounds like I need something d...

Re: Short lines for better high end

Agree fully with Jyoder. Static pull is about the same with all line lengths, as you figured nothing2seehere, but you lose a huge amount of low end and carving power. If you ride very powered and race style like, you will gain upper end as you can turn and move the kite without getting overpowered. ...

Re: Help a winger improve knee starts in rough

Agree, getting up fast is key, even small chop or breaking rough small waves, are a lot easier to handle when standing up (not foiling) than when on your knees. I have found, that even an okay volume board, if too short, is horrible in rough conditions. Length helps a lot - in particular if the wind...

Re: Custom made quick release

You could use velcro on the side of the cleat to make the line "stick" Regis.

Like many/most bars.

Re: Custom made quick release

What is the "floaty rope of central trims" Regis??? I love these, they are small light and easy in every way to make yourself, and 100 % customable regarding sheeting distance and so on, as it can be moved on the depower line. https://www.clamcleat.com/pub/media/catalog/product/cache/dc5170d444cd2c7...
