Re: inverted Ufo

One should be able to fly/ride one inverted back to the beach. Had smacked my 5m UFO on water and had deflate valve opened twice. Swam to it and inflated it by mouth both times - first time to use it as a sail to get back, second time I relaunched it after and as it flew inverted I rode it back to s...

Re: The future of foiling

I used to think I was wind obsessed. I have learned that I am water obsessed. Starting with Windsurfers, then Kites, I used them to pull me around on the water. I have always been drawn to waves; using the inclined face too bank off of, sliding down that same incline, sublime... Waves provide me wi...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

One thing I’d want to bring back would be bench front seats, so you can fit either three people or have your hot passenger next to you. And ideally it should unfold like in a clip below (except for front seats) into a bed, because all the gear in the back of the van doesn’t leave much space for comf...

Re: The future of foiling

For those saying Foildrive or efoil is the future... not everyone wants a motor. Part of the beauty of our sport is tapping into wind and swell and having that purity and connection to nature. The ability to toggle between wind and wave energy with a wing is truly special. As someone previously men...

Re: What's Up With Naish?

Do you remember denial of folks riding quad kites - how they insisted that depower kites are inferior. Do you recall denial of C-kite crowd, saying hooked riding is lame. It was hard to believe Triple-S is over. It’s been weird to see Hood River sandbar being half-empty, the ramps barely used. You g...

Re: The future of foiling

If you have nice rolling waves it feels almost a sin not to try assisted drive foiling, downwind foiling or combination of those. Kitefoiling is great fun yet winging adds novelty and simplicity to it. I’m doing both and not giving up on TT either. I love efoiling for calm Midwest summer days or as ...

Re: Sorry, your used gear is worth nada

Let’s differentiate MSRP, which is nowadays unreasonable, sale/F&F/prorider/dealer prices - those are quite far out and I’m wondering what portion of riders are buying for full retail price to start with? Cabrinha, Naish and Slingshot sale pricing for some great gear is pretty low, as it was pre-pan...

Re: Slingshot UFO V3

I’m below 90 kg and even when I was 5-10 kg heavier. I was using 7m in pre white caps conditions and 5m would get used when whitecaps are visible - at least sporadic, better well present, which is about 16 knots. I wouldn’t ride 5m with 1200 cm² wing though. The lightwind 1200 cm² wing is kind of sl...
