Re: Newbie questions getting started on land and then water?

I have started on snow with re-worked and trimmed paraglider on handles. would not reccomend handles to start on snowboard or skis. In your place i would buy used LEI 7-9 meters and would ride in light to medium winds. Snow does not require a lot of power, because if you stop due to lack of power- n...

Re: Beginner question

yeah, your instructor sucks...

if you want to understand launch- i would suggest to do tethered launch, check on youtube for instructions, but with person holding your kite when you find best position. It is clearly visible where in upwind/downwind you must be during launch.

Need help with strapless start in waves

So I got myself into strapless riding last year. I can do turns, switch feet and hang out with TT riders most in choppy or flat water. The spot I ride normaly has waves only in strong onshore wind, period about 3 seconds, not clean waves, lots of chaotic chop too. When I crash- my board is sent to t...

Re: Beginner question about kite sizes

Go for 9/13m if you are locked on Ventum. I am 82kg and use 12m most, 9m for high winds and 7m for stormy weather with gusts up to 40knots. As a beginner on normal day you will appreciate 13m betetr than 12m. you a going to need that power to learn upwind. 9/11 are too close, they will overlap a lot...

Re: which is the best upwind bodydrag technique to recover the board?

what helped me- when you fall- do not look for the board by turning back. Just keep body drag in the same direction as fall for 10 seconds, then turn another direction. Normaly you should see your board now or do more zig zag. Or if it just rough chop- get GoJoe.

Re: Help with beginner setup - but will ride 3 months nearly every day

You should take you lessons first, then you will understand what kite size you need. Boards normally are fine second hand, no need to pay 400EUR for beginer board.

Are you planning to buy from you-love-it.eu ? they have nice prices listed, but not all goods are in stock.

Re: Corona Virus - Has your country banned kitesurfing?

i agree with Havre. People turn into brainless zombies and invent their own bans. In at the beginning China goverment recommended to stay home, no official bans, but people were so eager to do something that they started to not allow other to go out. Somebody takes supervising role themselves and fo...

Re: Just how common are foot injurys in kiteboarding?

I was going fast on strapless in a shallow water, kite pulled me of the board. Had to jump off. I though I was landing on soft sand heels first. But apparently sand was hard packed. 6 months later my heel still hurts a bit.
