Re: Naish Slash 2018 vs Naish Slash 2019

I finally had my 7m Slash out in some acceptional wind today 23-29 knots on my 5.1 FW Vader. I felt like this was the sweet spot with the kite at my weight (80kgs). I like to be powered when riding bay wind swell. I have to say that this kite ate up the gusts. Never pulled me off my edge and very co...

Re: Naish Slash 2018 vr Naish Slash 2019

I have had my new 2019 Naish Slash 7m out in some ok wind now and as promised, thought I’d post a review. Have only flown the 2018 Slash once in the 8m so have a better comparison to the 2018 Pivot 7m. Rider: Intermediate/advanced, 85kgs, natural. Board: FireWire Vader 5.1 Bar/lines: BTB 55 on rope ...

Re: Naish Torque Control Bar issue

Well done Jonysan! Definitely pays to get familiar with your QR on dry land. I haven’t had to reset my chicken loop in the surf since my experience I wrote about last year..... thank goodness! But I think I would still have problems if my kite was under load. Testing on dry land is so different comp...

Re: Naish Slash 2018 vr Naish Slash 2019

Thanks for the response Tautologies. I have sold my 2018 Pivots and find myself in that uneasy situation of not having kites for a short period of time.... and of course, our lack of wind for the past 4 months has miraculously had a turn around and there is perfect windy conditions for the next week...

Re: 2018 Naish Slash

Can anyone report on or know of any good reviews for the 2019 Slash?

New colours look awesome but would like to know how it handles.

Re: 2018 Naish Slash

Thanks all for your replies to my questions. Very constructive and informative Strekke. Based on your review I think I’ll trade my 7/9 Pivots for the 7/9 Slash. I’m prepared to loose a knot or 2 low end. That’s the boring end imho.....

Re: 2018 Naish Slash

Hi All, Getting some great info on this thread. I need some advice from Pivot/Slash users. Been riding Pivots every year since 2015. I only ride a directional in the surf. Do lots of downwinders mostly. I am 84kgs and currently have the 7/9m Pivot 2018’s. Would call myself intermediate/advanced. Hav...

Re: Pivot Unbaised Review. Good Kite For Surf?

Would like to solicit an unbiased review from someone on the Naish Pivot. I only ride waves, all kinds of waves. Looks like the Slash is the Naish wave-kite, but my thoughts are that the Pivot will go upwind better??? It's critical for me to have a kite that goes upwind easily. I know a lot of guys...

Re: Hard shell harnesses comparison

I purchased the C1 new in 2016 after a demo. Felt awesome in the shop. I liked the lumber padding and the shallow back plate. Thought it worth a shot as it was almost half the retail cost of the RE. After a year or so of riding, hoping it will bed into my back I little more, I’ve now given up and so...

Re: Naish Torque Control Bar issue

That’s some really sound advice. I found most of my pre-2017 Naish Control Bars had detents where the QR would hold in place allowing you to concentrate on resetting the CL. I did try the Torque Bar QR on the beach a few times pre-launch but was not expecting such difficulty in resetting on the wate...
