Re: gliding/carving with speed: kite falls (a good drifting kite)

A friend gave me a ride of his 4m Peak4 this last week. I have to say that the hype I have read on this kite is mostly accurate in terms of drift performance. It is the first kite I have owned where I could ride the swell without having to think about the kite. I managed some full cutbacks on the wa...

Re: Lift 170 Classic harmonics

Yep, turned out to be the mast causing the ‘humming’. A very light sand both sides of the trailing edge @30 degrees solved the issue.

Thanks for the great advice again.
Hope this helps someone else as well.

Re: gliding/carving with speed: kite falls (a good drifting kite)

Been reading about the Peak4 on KF and am interested in trialing. I like to have an open mind about different tools for kitesurfing. I acknowledge the water relaunch capabilities of the Peak4 but I can see applications for where I live, bay wind swell for example. I wouldn’t use one on the open ocea...

Re: Lift 170 Classic harmonics

Thanks all for the comments.

The tape is a good idea which I hope to try out today.

Will also square-off the trailing edges and see how that goes. Failing this, will progress to sanding the mast.

I’m sure I’ll get there eventually

Lift 170 Classic harmonics

Hoping for some insight from other Lift users on a harmonics issue I have been trying to remedy. Have owned the 170 Classic for about 5 months now. Love the wing and the mast for my style of riding but cannot shake the harmonics (humming) it produces at the upper speed ranges. I have been sanding th...

Re: Single strut kite questions...

I had the exact same problem a number of years back. i.e. kite turning quickly one direction, a delayed/slow turn in the opposite direction. After some closer investigation of my flying lines, I found a knot on one side. This essentially caused a line length issue manifesting in the aforementioned t...

Re: 2020 Naish Torch

I haven’t unhooked for a while but if it’s light wind freeride or freestyle performance you’re after then try and demo a 2020 or S25 Boxer in the larger sizes (14m+).

Cheers

Re: Firewire Hydroshort kite version

Do any Hydroshort riders have any opinions or thoughts on riding the surf ‘non-kite’ version in the Helium construction? I’ve always purchased the Kite construction with my LFT boards as I felt Standard LFT were more prone to breaking under kite loads. The Helium boards seem much more solid so wonde...

Re: Naish 2021

Ive only flown my 12m so far ! Im in love with not ! Ive been on the Slash for the past 4 years and love them but I think Im sticking to the pivots this year and the Boxers for foiling and as my ultra light wind surf kite. Got the slash S25 delivered 2 hours ago.
Tomorrow 30 knots of wind in the forecast!!!
Well done xanpet!
Nothing like a fresh new kite to motivate.
Would appreciate a review of your new 7m Slash if you can spare the time.

Cheers.
