Re: Kite deals

Leeuwen is exactly right. I waited it out one year, saw what prices became available and bought the next. Different brands are sold at different margins so expect different discounts. Different brands release at different times now- it wasnt long ago they all released at similar times. Supply chains...

Re: Slowest 6 or 7m kite for freeride?

Yes small kites are more fun to fly but big kites and small boards are much more fun to really FLY. My 7m storm kite rarely come out. Its a 5 strut hybrid c 5 line kite. Although it can drop you like a stone it feels a tiny bit safer as the flag out is centre line. 9m is good up to stupid amounts an...

Re: Slowest 6 or 7m kite for freeride?

Have you tried them with the back lines further to the middle? Dont you have this adjustment? I find my 7m kite too fast and adjust the back line setting for "less speed/more bar pressure" with a minimal effect on pressure. A smaller bar is another answer to this problem. The difference in 5cm is qu...

Re: Moving from a vegas to a better allrounder

Came from Best GP for similar reasons. Now have eleveight RS. Losing that direct feel cannot be avoided but my new kites are so much better. Dumping the power with the bar nstead of the boafd ege takes away loads of rding strain. Out local instructor sold his dice in favour of the school evo's. Anot...

Re: Share your experience with kitesurfing and how it influenced your condition and mindset

Started about 14 years ago. Was instantly addicted. Haven't really looked back. Met loads of brilliant people- is a fantastic hobby that doesnt haven't to cost a lot. I think you know from the beach- the first time you see someone out doing it- that you will also be there with them soon. Once you ar...

Re: Is there any company that welds the valves?

I'm in a similar position, wishing I'd just sold em "slightly leaky" and got rid. Feels wrong though- I'll sell when I've fixed all the leaks, rebridled it and coated it in shoe glue. Then it will be like a new kite again and I can recoup the money of the glue and bits :s

Re: Cabrinha valve trap install

I used a standard kettle, held my finger down on the switch for a few extra seconds and poured it into a pyrex jug. I then stuffed the valve into the jug and weighted it down with a cup. After 2 mins it peeled straight off. I should have just reglued it and saved my valve trap for travelling.
