Re: Another UK Kitesurf Fatality

RIP to another fellow sailor. In answer to a previous question yes the UK is gusty wind the majority of the time. We dont really get thermal winds good enough for kiting unless its peak summer. People go out on storm winds that may be boosted by thermal effects. Sometimes its 'only' 5knt gusts, usua...

Re: Flexifoil Shiva vs. Best TS

Best roca or kahoona are far more beginner friendly kites from that brand I'm still riding my 2015 kahoona, the back lines are like permanently slack. Huge wind range. Turns VERY slowly. Very low bar pressure. Super easy jumper. The TS is more advanced . It will likely catch you out, not impossible ...

Re: Forum Etiquette, Helmets and Respect.

What should happen at Camber, given it's history with mass drownings of tourists, the now monopoly beachside kite business that have 'connections' with Rother District Council should either provide 'launchers' or do a deal and train the new lifeguards into multi role 'launch assistants' it would no...

Re: Most powerful 9m LEI out there?

Id second the north neo. 1st Gen. Great low end but becomes a serious handful above 28knts @ 85kg. My kahoona 11.5 goes 5-7knts higher but turns like an oil tanker. The neo is super responsive but at the expenses of depower.

Re: Why do schools keep using the seat harness in lessons but most people use waist?

Learn on a seat harnesses for all the reasons above. Buy a waist harness the day your seat harnesses tries to cut one, or both, of your testicles off. Or just buy the waist harness, put up with the free abs work out and chiropracting and do that with your meat and 2 veg in shape. Seats are more adju...

First loops today :)

Three down loops with the carving turns and 2 water starts from loops nailed today. I want to build up to heliloops to achieve better landings from jumps. I am pretty much sending the kite straight down the power zone on landing to get going again at the moment. Throwing loops intentionally definite...

Re: Convert 2016 Best GP bar to four lines possible?

I have both the 4 and 5 line bars- the line quality is immense- easily the most rock solid lines I've ever seen. If I get time tomorrow I'll try and document the differences for you, including the flag line holes etc. I use the 4 line on my 11m kahoona and 14m SS rally and the 5 line on my 7 and 9m ...

Re: Vacuum bags

What lightwind said. Ive used them before. They allow you to pack down real small. Be super careful if you have battens in the trailing edge- you really don't want them puncturing the canopy. I didn't evacuate 100% in case it over stressed the valves- this was 10 years ago and my newer kites have ne...

Re: Join the cause - stop kite theft

No theft here either. I can only see this being relevant if the kite needs service in the future and the repair shops are expected to check these serials against a stolen list, then report it and then have the police actually do something about it. Far more effective to find the stolen shit for sale...
