Re: F-one Mirage 800 and 1000 Carbon 2020/2021 (V3)

I have the mirage 1000 & 650. The 1000 is fantastic, especially with a single skin foil kite in smaller sizes, I also found it great for learning to gybe etc, however like any big wing it is doesn't glide as well as a smaller wing and can be a handlful in large chop, also not great with a bigger kit...

does a foil carve or pivot?

When I turn a foil despite my best efforts I never really get a feeling that it is carving, not in the same way you feel a carve when gybing a windsurfer or paddle surfing. I don't get that locked in feeling that you are pushing hard against something that is pushing back and creating that wonderful...

Fone mirage 650 UK but happy to post to europe

This is the perfect upgrade if you have learned on the Fone1c6 and now want a wing that will be smoother and easier with more glide. Once I had the hang of foiling on the 1c6 I found this wing a joy to use, you realise how much drag is built into the ic6 to make it good for learning but also makes i...

Re: Kite foiling is dying sooo fast

winging takes more wind. i only see wingers out when i'm on an 8m kite or less. in that sense, it is like windsurfing. and yes, i had the gear and tried it. not for me (had bad shoulders already). i see the point of it in limited/difficult launch spots, but around here on the open ocean, kite foili...

Re: What foil.

I can really rate the fone kit. I started on the Ic6 and then got the mirage 1000 to learn to gybe which worked a treat, then got the mirage 650 to get back to cruising with less drag and more glide which was a great wing. I then moved down again to the escape 510 for again less drag and just pure g...

Re: soul pulling to one side

thanks tsuneo that's interesting, I did the mixer test and it was fine, however if I understand you right the mixer test can be fine on each side but the line(s) might be longer overall on the left than the right?

Any ideas for how to test this?

thanks

Re: soul pulling to one side

Coming back to the soul pulling to one side if you create a new knot on the steering line to shorten it slightly would that fix it?

Re: Using A Bicycle To Go To Beach With Hydrofoil

I have used the kids bike trailer in the past and, as said, it was very satisfying not taking the car. However the downside was I could only take one kite as not able to leave kites on beach for fear of being stolen. The last time during the 30 minute cycle the wind had picked right up and I had a p...

Re: Off Topic - America's Cup Sailing - Foiled Monohulls

is it intentional that the foils don't bring the boat right out the water but provide some lift?
