Futures finbox replacement

Ive replaced a number of futures finboxes in the last few years, my approach has been to dig out the old one and put in a new one and fill the gaps with epoxy. (In the past i didnt even cover over with cloth :nono: ) Looking into it, i see the proper way is to fill up the foam, rout out the new box ...

Re: Duotone Neo quiver 9/7/6 or 5?

I have 5-7-9 neo set up, at 70kg riding a surfboard and also find that the 7-5 gap is too large. I like to ride smallest kite possible and often have to really work the 5m hard. Although i can justify the spend, likely i will fill the gap with a 6m, cant see anyway round it if you like to want to ke...

Re: cheap kite suggestion

Old kites would be the way id go as a beginner, something you wont mind crashing. I recently sold some old gear i had from around 2012, both rebels for about £100 each. They were both still great kites, stable and in perfectly usable condition, i doubt a beginner would notice any difference between ...

Re: How and where do you carry hook knife?

Whateve knife you go for, i suggest to put it on a thin bungee cord (or attach a float to it). Very easy to drop / lose knife in the sea (i have!), especially bad if that happens when you most need it!

Re: Kite Skimboard - worth it?

I stopped kiting in lighter winds years ago preferring waves (we only get wind swell at my spot), I never even use my 12m kite anymore. Now im actually looking fwd to getting out in light winds and small waves with the skim, will be fun learning some tricks and reckon it will be good prqctice/board ...

Re: Kite Skimboard - worth it?

pretty clear consensus on the fins! thanks for all the tips. (i take the point on the smaller fins in some conditions ) all makes sense and im glad not to make the expensive change and it to be a waste of time. i suspected the conditions i was riding in werent ideal, bigish waves, choppy in between ...

Re: Kite Skimboard - worth it?

interesting... cheers pebbles

i did only spend about 10 mins on it and conditions were maybe not ideal - strong wind/overpowered with fairly large waves. sounds like you use the skim regularly (in medium waves too?), will give it another go for sure. . .

Kite Skimboard - worth it?

hey guys - i got a large epoxy skimboard this summer to play around with the kids on the beach (CircleOne, 54 inch i think). i also had i mind to use it for kiting when i bought it. With no fins, its extremely loose of course and bit out of control unless you very edge hard the whole time.. So i'm t...
