Re: A case for full face?

What is jack-knife fall ? Never heard that It is when your body falls over the down-wind rail of the board, like a hinged knife folding closed, caused by losing your balance in the side direction. Feet stay with the board, upper body falls towards the water, and the foil wings rise up towards the s...

Re: A case for full face?

I just got a bunch of stitches on my forehead from what I presume was the nose of the board hitting me. I'm wondering how many of the head injuries are caused by the nose of the board, as the board chases the rider down after a crash. Seems common... I was bloodied the same way way; others also: It...

Re: A case for full face?

The bucket effect from a full face helmet would be huge. (From experience, I disagree - especially if we're taking about a wire grille, which has negligible water drag.) Bucket-effect: No complaints here for either helmet. The wire grille of #1 has effectively no drag in the water; and I haven't ha...

Re: Pivot vs Enduro

I use Enduro V2's. In the centre of the kite there is a bridle setting which when you set it to "freestyle" it opens up the canopy a little and improves low end and increases bar pressure at the expense of slightly slower turning. It really does work and I mostly use this in my 12m in marginal cond...

Re: Recognize this mast?

So, from the picture and its comment in the previous page, I get that a zeeko fuselage can be mounted in a slingshot hoverglide mast but you may need slightly shorter screws, right? No; I think the hole spacing on the Zeeko fuse is slightly different, so to make it work you need to enlarge the hole...

I have compared my rrd emotion 17 with this Flite 17 and they are roughly the same size. So the Flite is not small. The Turbine is just huge.

Re: "Thruster" (Liquid Force) wing for beginners

I ride both, and like both. Thruster: (w/ "HD" fuselage, aluminum masts 60cm and 94cm) - stalls at low boardspeeds like all 'kite' foils - more sensitive to pitch (leads to breach/nosedive), upset more by water turbulence + less roll stability means faster / easier to carve around at speed + durable...
