Re: F-One Linx Bar 2018 vs 2019

Hi Francesco, I've kited with the Bandit XII's (12 & 9m) and V2 Linxbar since last October. Previously I had the BX1's & V1 Linxbar. In terms of performance the V2 bar & stiffer lines gives the new Bandits a more direct feel which I like. However this maybe more a factor of the new kites than the ba...

Re: Shinnster thoughts

How would you rate the low end?? about the same as a door?? [/quote] I've never kited a Spleene door so can't say. I would generally kite the Shinnster with my 12m kite in say 12 knots of wind. To me it's about learning new strapless skills and having a break from the TT on a day with a gentle breez...

Re: Shinnster thoughts

I am looking for a fun board to ride in light wind, small surf, and help with strapless footwork. I have read that the shinnster is great in those conditions but conflicting opinions on how good it is for learning strapless footwork. I'm looking at the new 2018 with deckpad and 80mm fins.. I had th...

Re: Pulleys on kites

With a pullyless kite every bridal line has to be accurate to half a centimetre with a kite with pulleys there is a lot more forgiveness if you get a measurement not quite right in my experience it's much harder to make a good kite without pulleys. A kite without pulleys can outperform any other ki...

Re: Mittens vs. 3 Finger Gloves vs. 5 Finger Gloves

I use https://www.prolimit.com/product/mittens-open-palm/ and have warm hands down to 5 deg C which is generally the lowest temp I kite in. The open palm is protected from windchill by wrapping your hands around the bar. When you tie/untie your kite from the bar I just slip my hand through the open ...

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

However, this year is an evolution to the design and with the new setup you can cinch it in tight very easily and it just feels even more secure. John IMO 70% of the "fit" is how tight you can get the harness to prevent it riding up. My 2017 RE with the single buckle was the first harness ever I ma...

Re: Shinn Ronson review

I've never even seen a Shinn board but its interesting how I don't think I've ever seen anything but really positive reviews on them - and lots of those. Probably the first make I would look at for my next board. I've now had the Ronson for a year since I did my initial review and the whole package...

Re: F one Bandit 12m 2018 V's 2017 review

Had my 3rd session with the 12m today. Wind 13 to 17 knots. The bottom end of this kite is phenomenal I was kiting in 13 knots to begin with going upwind like a train & getting some massive jumps. I’ve never flown a “C” kite before but I imagine this is the closest for a hybrid/bow kite. The pull is...

Re: F one Bandit 9m 2018 V’s 2017

Interesting review https://www.iksurfmag.com/reviews/kites/f-one-kiteboarding-bandit-7m-2018/ I can certainly confirm the ability to charge upwind and point higher than any other Bandit I've kited. Also the nimble/quick turns do make it feel like a 7m. The smooth boost, great hang time and the short...
