Re: 20 years of kiteforum

Thank you Toby for keeping the forum alive, adding new wind sports like wing surfing. Without the wing surfing forum I would not have received the good advice that continues to help me progress. I started out kitesurfing 21 years ago with the late Hung Vu's kitesurfingschool.org, which is still up a...

Re: second session on a wing

Nice videos. How do you like your F-One CWC Strike 8m wing? From what I've heard it is one of the best light wind wings.

Re: What type of oil to use in kite pump?

Silicone aerosol spray cans contain hydrocarbon propellants and that is what causes degradation of the seals/o-rings. It's best to use pure silicone grease which should not degrade the seals/o-rings. I am going to try pure natural lanolin on my pump seals/o-rings to see how it does (it works great o...

Re: Second Wing - Light Wind 8m

I heard that GoFoil is coming out with a 7.5 or 8m wing. Anyone have any experience with GoFoil wings, particularly the larger size ones?

Re: Ride of the Year?

I thought he ate it when he went into the tube. He mentioned afterwards that he thought he almost did also and that his contact lenses blew out. I had that happen to me during high speed kiting; I was wearing Sea Specs. This was back before my Garmin Fenix so I don't know my speed, but it was scary ...

Re: don't paint your entire foil kiteboarding kite do this instead

I finally finished sealing the seams (leading edge, almost all the upper surface except near the trailing edge) on my 12m Soul. Took one 10 oz. tube. I got some decent wind to test it in (12-15 knots) yesterday. It seemed to make a significant difference in my jumps (more floaty) as well as the low ...

Re: Wingcraft [V1] Replacement Gore-Tex vent screw?

Anybody know how long these Gore-Tex vents last? And how do you know when they've gone bad so you have to replace them? Just unscrew them and visually inspect?

Re: Duotone Unit 2023

It looks like they expanded the reinforcement between the handles to prevent the strut blowout mentioned in another thread (Worse wings of 2022 - viewtopic.php?f=201&t=2414392).

Re: new wing

I can see that the elliptical leading edge would be more aerodynamic. The forces on a wing are mostly perpendicular to the surface of the wing possibly resulting in more flexing unless they made the narrower elliptical cross section larger resulting in a overall larger leading edge and more weight. ...
