Re: Naish Pivot vs Duotone Neo

I can’t speak to the pivot which would be on my list of kites to try. But as far as the neo and evo, I picked the evo for waves. I sold my neos. I personally think some of the new 3 strut all around kites are very good in waves and have some advantages over the dedicated wave kites in real world wa...

Re: Naish Pivot vs Duotone Neo

I ride Cabos. They are "dedicated wave kites". I have also ridden a 10m Pivot in waves. I would choose my 11m Cabo over the 10m Pivot for wave riding any day. However, Cabos suck for jumping, whereas the Pivot is great for jumping & also surprisingly fast turning for kiting in waves. I really think ...

Re: Naish Pivot vs Duotone Neo

OP what you describe is how I use my Pivots. Jumping and waves. Not sure if i believe the any kite smokes the pivot in drift as even kites built specifically for it are just marginally better. I think you'll hear people who has north kites recommended their kites and people who has naish kites reco...

Re: Moses 2019

I live in Hood River and like many here, support our local brand. That said, the LAST thing I want is for any brand to dominate the market. Innovation suffers, prices go up, and we lose. Talking of which ... what happening with LP? They don't seem to have come up with anything new for a long time. ...

Re: Moses 2019

Moses will be out of the market soon. Slinghot has stopped the cooperation with them, so it will be interesting to see the new developments being released as almost all of the wings were Slingshot designs. Moses makes one of the best foils you can buy. Slingshot is already behind Cabrinha in neat a...

Re: Trying to get into Kiteboarding is this a good deal?

Thanks everyone. I'm passing on this setup and found a local guy who is on this forum who is going to help me get a decent setup. There is a lot of good used gear available on ikitesurf & other online sources. What you need is the knowledge to pick what is appropriate for your purposes. That takes ...

Got some photochromatic glasses cheap from AliExpress to try on the water, but I just realized they might need direct exposure to UV to darken and I tend to wear hats ... anyone have experience with them?
There will be enough light hitting the lenses to darken them even without direct sunlight.

Just to let you know how the cataract op goes, you basically get to look into a light while the guy sucks your old lens out with blunt tipped cannula, although you can't feel much you get the vibration, a bit like at the dentists, your knuckles go well white as you grip the arm of the chair as he s...

Re: kiting Portugal / Spain in July

I didn't realize that Guincho can get that big during the summer. Guincho was not big when I visited in July ... however, it was very windy. One day I came off the water with my 7m because it was too windy - people were going out on 4m & 5m kites. Not particularly gnarly to get out at Guincho, but a...

People easily forget snowboarders jumping huge jumps and landing them on groomed slope, which is not soft at all.
If you could make sure the water you're landing on is sloped ... you'd be all set. :-?
