Re: Looking for cheap lines supplier

This is a company in the Netherlands I am considering using:

https://www.customkitelines.com/kitesurf_lines/

I have not used their product before. Anyone with any feedback to offer on them?

Re: Kite sugestions for foiling in 15 knots

what's the low end for a Peak4 6m (72kg rider with a 1250cm^2 wing)? I am 82 kg with a 1000 cm2 wing. A comfortable low end for me with the 6m Peak4 is around 10 knots. Could probably go down to about 9 knots. At your weight & larger wing you might be able to squeeze another knot at the low end. No...

Re: Board shorts?

At last, a serious topic. I have noticed the disappearance of board-shorts-over-the-wetsuit over the last few years. It does look kooky now ... but it's an obvious demonstration that all fashions are transient. I think a major practical reason for wearing shorts was a place to stow car keys. Nowaday...

Re: Aluminium vs Carbon Mast - Cost vs Benefit

I will report my impressions - quite interested to see how it rides. As I mentioned, I used to have a 100cm LP foil (mine was black, not red). It was a beautiful foil - super light & "elegant". However, the mast was quite narrow & the cord was short & the tapering to the attachment point meant that ...

Re: Aluminium vs Carbon Mast - Cost vs Benefit

Just received my 85 cm Gong carbon mast/fuselage. The immediately noticeable thing is that the new mast has a much thicker cord than the older Gong alu mast (or the older Gong Carbon mast). As a result it's not all that light - I guess Gong has made the decision that stiffness is more important than...

Re: Kite sugestions for foiling in 15 knots

Thanks. I live in Tumaco, good for foiling, can check my instagram @josetumaco Please tell me, Soul 6m could be for 10 to 15 knots? Peak4. 4 M What wind can cover? In what sense do you preffer it to a Soul 6m? I am afraid is too little, isnt it better 6m? I can tell you for sure that an 8m Peak4 is...

Re: Foil but must be cheap

Update: I got my Gong foil exactly on the date they said it would arrive. The quality looks ok to me, although it's not lightweight by any means it does look very bullitproof. It was well packaged and came in a nice bag. I had my first ever session today and after about an hour had my first short r...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Hi. Newbie to the foil game here. I'm thinking about a peak4 5m or 6m to get out when winds are light. My current quiver only let's me foil when it's 7 m/s or above (14 knots). I'm 68 kg and have a 1500 cm surf wing and want to open up for foiling in as light winds as possible. Which peak size woul...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I have the 6m & the 4m. The 4m is amazing - that's partly because the conditions in which you use the 4m are ideal conditions for riding swell/waves downwind. I will say that IMO the 4m Peak is a bit more powerful than a 5m wave kite - more equivalent to my 6m 3 strut. I was less enthusiastic about ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I have a 6m..... and have to say..... It's a beauty of a kite. i really like my 6m as well, but it seems to have an issue...or maybe it's just me. first off, this occurs on all my bars, including my brand new one, so no, my lines don't need replacing. and it doesn't happen with my 8m. when i pull i...
