Re: any suggestions for kite in/out accommodations in Cabarete, DM and/or Maxwell Beach in Barbados

Cabarete is far from "luxury caribbean". If you are looking for nuclear blue waters and beautiful resorts with delicious/expensive restaurants then look elsewhere. I love cabarete but my wife will not go. That being said the wind is usually good, the surf is excellent for regular surfing every morn...

Re: Best way to start

Hi all, new to this forum. I’m planning on starting kitesurfing on holiday in the med next year, and wondered what’s the best prep I can do before hand? Was thinking of getting a harness and control bar from eBay and a trainer kite and do some practice on land which I think might be fun and save me...

So I guess this means that none of the three finalists were able to have a celebratory drink after the competition? :-?

Amazing talent on display. I hope they all stay safe and fit going forward.

Re: any suggestions for kite in/out accommodations in Cabarete, DM and/or Maxwell Beach in Barbados

I've been many times to Cabarete, starting in 1987. Wind anywhere can vary from week to week and year to year. I've kept a log on my past few winter trips to Cabarete and the stats are (more or less): 20% little or no wind, 20% wind 10 - 14 knot range, 40% wind 14 - 18 knot range, 20% wind 18 - 22 k...

Jim: the places you list are all very different from each other. T & C and Caymans are bland, expensive, "Americanized", with beautiful beaches and flat water. St. Lucia is a beautiful Island & a good bet for stronger wind at that time of year, but direct water access is limited to a couple of resor...

Lake Effect

It's that time of year when the Great Lakes turn into snow machines. The water in the lakes in still relatively warm. When cold air and strong winds blow across the water they suck up high amount of moisture and drop it as snow over the colder land mass. The Buffalo, NY area is a frequent target for...

Re: Ride of the Year?

With the lip towering over him and about to collapse ... he straightens out. :o

The third angle looks like all those clips from Chopes where the rider gets knocked off by the foam ball & sucked over the falls. Miraculous that he makes it through.

Re: "The Hybrid" from Flysurfer

You have a full quiver of Peak4's you say Flyboy? That is rare to see, amazing. That's 7 kites 😁 How do you rate the 8 and 11 and 13 m2? Many drop either the 11 or 13, instead of having both. Off topic though  8) Peter Really? Full quiver for my purposes. I don't have more stuff than I need.
