Hi, noob winger but avid kitefoiler here. Do newer wings make a significant difference heading upwind when not on foil? I have an ancient Gong Pulse, must be 4 or 5 years old, not used much so not too bagged out. Having trouble getting out from shore to deeper water. Thanks!

Thanks for the responses. There are also SS paragliders that are significantly smaller than their double skin counterparts that are rated for the same weight and similar trim speed. Does the lower skin have a large influence?

Why does my Peak 4m have the same power as a 7m or 8m double skin foil kite? Is it due to different top skin cambers or is there an effect from the lower skin?

When the wind is starting to fade and trying to get back to shore with a large surf wing and slow foil kite, is it better to jibe with a downloop or tack?

I need to drift launch to access some spots, with the peak 5m I need about 8 knots, anyone know if the 6m will drift launch below that? Thanks.

No vacuum, also be sure your masking tape edge is very flat.
