Re: Washington DC kite spots

Having lived in DC and the Outer Banks back in the day, it's well worth the 5 hour drive to get to Coastal Carolina. But as the other poster mentioned do watch your speed....the sheriff,s dont mess around.

Re: Cuba or Colombia in March

+1 for Cartagena. I was there last month and although I didn't get to kite, there was enough wind for people to kite 4 of the 6 days I was there. As Toby mentioned, check by Las Americas hotel. The one day I was free of obligations and able to try and Kite I headed down to that beach and spoke with ...

Re: St. Thomas / USVI Spots?

I lived on St Thomas back in the early 1990's. There is inconsistent but really good surf there mid winter if you know where to look. Unfortunately, the winds are better on the East side of the island. When the waves were down i would go windsurfing and i found the winds best around Red Hook. Plan t...

Re: Naish Repair Hack

So there is a slow leak when the top screw lid is closed? Or when it is open? Did you try to just blow little on it in case there is sand stuck down there? Top The leak was from between the valve seat and the main screw (not the top screw-lid which was closed). Admittedly I did not attempt to blow ...

Re: Naish Repair Hack

Hey Chirojoseph, My last kite session I had the same problem with my Naish 12M Pivot. I did the bubble test this morning and found the same thing you did, a very slow leak at the main inflation valve. Could you kindly expand on how you resolved the issue? I am hesitant "rip apart" anything. Your exp...

Re: Windy + All-inclusive resort + August + Carrib or Mexico

Hi There dchatzis, It's been a couple of years so my memory is hazy and I couldn't find any of my notes from that trip. I'm fairly certain that it was Kite Boarding Jamaica. Here is a link: http://kiteboardingjamaica.com/Kiteboarding_Jamaica/Location.html I recall it is run by a German lady who is a...

Re: tuftlite 6.6 soulfish for strapless surfing

7 years later…and I found this thread regarding kiting with a Randy French Soulfish. I bump this back to present day as I have been riding my 6’6” RF Soulfish as a kiteboard. I had originally bought the board new (13 years ago?) as a shortboard for (regular) surfing when I didn’t want to longboard. ...

DIY short surfboard leash\tail?

I'm looking for suggestions... When riding my surfboard in waves and losing my board, I get to the beach pick up my board and head back to the water. In higher winds sometimes it's convenient to hold the very small loop of line that is in the leash plug at the tail of the board. When I used this boa...

Re: dynamic differences with seat and waist harness

...in a nutshell, a waist harness can be tough on the ribs, a waist harness tough on the...um.. nuts.
I did find that when I switched to a seat harness I could throw more de-power.
