Re: Where is Epic Kites ?

Was thinking of trying Switch next... may try a Renegade instead :thumb: After all, I'm semi-local.

Re: Aruba: Last Minute Travel

I also just went to Aruba a few weeks ago. My group rented a VRBO condo up in the resort area just a short walk to all the action. We had 2 rental cars and drove down to Boca every afternoon when the wind is strongest. We were all on 9-10-12 kites depending on the time of day, kiter weight, etc. We ...

Re: Seat Harness for Foil Racing

Dakine Vega is used by many racers. Love the Vega. Light, comfortable, all the pull is focused through the right part of the butt/small of the back to prevent any back pain or discomfort. Highly recommend... Do the Vega and the Nitrous shorts share the same underlying strap position and structure? ...

Re: Vacuum bags

I've used vacuum bags, and did so without a vacuum. As others have said, fold and pack the kite as neatly as you can, put it in the bag, and close the zip-lock. Then instead of using a vacuum just open the valve and lay flat on the bag to squeeze as much air out as you can, and then close the valve....

Re: Why isn't sliding rope bar more prevalent?

...we'll see more elegant and simple chickenloop replacement once unhooked wakestyle is no longer a major money maker for manufacturers. I'm using the Slingshot Talon chicken loop replacement with a Ride Engine slider... I like it so far. It takes a lot of length out of the setup which alleviates t...

Re: Any place to buy a sand anchor that's safe?

www.beachhook.com I bought this one from NZ as there were no decent ones on AUS. It works very well. The auger holds in the sand well. I had to adjust connections a little as i have Fireball not a chicken loop. Definitely get this one.Screen Shot 2019-01-17 at 8.27.02 am.png That looks like a reall...

Re: Harness with Sliding spreader bar

I used the SS Talon on my slider bar for the first time 2 weeks ago and so far think it's awesome. It brings the bar a lot closer than having a long chicken loop stretched out which avoids reach problems, especially when getting overpowered and trying to sheet out... we've all seen people trying to ...

Re: Any place to buy a sand anchor that's safe?

I came across this somewhat old thread when searching for something else. Update: I exchanged the huge ultimate sandshark for the smaller version (HD?). It works great, has plenty of holding power, and fits nicely in my bow locker. I had them slightly customize it by using a removable pin between th...

Re: Bermuda - Any current info on kiteboarding there?

Hello! I'm also wondering about the kiting scene in Bermuda - did you get any action out there and do you have any recommendations? I'm looking to go in February if it's not too cold. Cheers Yes, I kited while I was there, but only 1 time and not at a great location (which was expected, so totally ...

Re: Vibram five finger booties for kiteboarding

I agree with OzBungy about the sand issue. If you're in an area with lots of soft sand or silt, it will work it's way into the toes and is incredibly annoying and often painful. I stopped wearing them to kite, and then ended up tossing them out after they started to wear out. I give them a thumbs do...
