Re: Aluula? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

I have a lot of friends with Allula kites and I am considering buying one myself. I have seen this peeling of the gold coat on a few kites but nowhere near this bad usually just a few small spots. This kite must have a lot of wear if it was a dacron leading edge it would probably be in pretty bad sh...

Re: Pete Cabrinha leaves the Cabrinha brand

Just curious is all One of my friend who knows Pat the designer was telling me a few days ago that they are coming out wit...

Re: One strut kite: low end vs size

I am 80kg and I can tell you I gain about 2 knots in low end between a 12m single strut and a 9m. That's with larger wings in the 950 to 1250 range. I'm not sure what that translate to with a smaller wing like yours.

Re: Gong Hipe compatibility with other foils

I have this foil and I can tell you it doesn't use M10 screws. I have never seen anyone using M10 on any kite or foil gear ever. The High Rise uses M8 with countersunk head or M8 thread for screws coming from the top through the board for the old style boards like the Double Agent. Yes you can mount...

Re: Pump adapter - North/Duotone to Eleveight

For the new North kites and for Eleveight they use the same valve you don't need an adapter you just screw the hose to the valve directly. I mean you push the hose in and turn a little to lock it in.

Re: Aruba - a couple questions

I haven't been to Aruba but I have a friend who spends 5 months there every winter and I was supposed to go go before Covid. I asked about question 2 and he said no because there are significant cliffs and it's just as gusty.

Re: and finally the electric hydrofoil for the masses

The show stopper for electric hydrofoil has been the price, they cost as much as a small car. The fact that they don't have a handle in the middle of the board to smash your face on when you fall is not an improvement IMO. Most people with no foiling experience can learn to ride existing efoils pret...

Re: Suggestions for travel bag pocket hydrofoil?

Any kiteboard bag will do the smaller ones with Golf written on them would be good. I have also traveled with large hockey goaler bags with wheels as my checked bag they are about 90cm long and have tons of volume. I used to put my foil in there and a few kites. They are like large luggage so airlin...
