Re: Surviving a death loop

I was not sure Stealth slider will work with my Dakine Shorts seat harness. Harness does not have the velcro belt panels to tighten the harness on your waist. Does not look like the Stealth bars "wings" will have enough room to go to. Ordered a Mystic Clicker 4.0 bar. It has the steel ring included...

Re: Surviving a death loop

Strangely no one apart from Berdytello (who said it works) actually commented on the idea of pulling the unloaded steering line to stall the kite and stop the death loop. I guess most people did not bother watching the 2 videos from an unknown Russian guy, or/and never been in a death loop situation...

Re: Surviving a death loop

Yeah the "foul hook" thing has happened to me a couple times. Thankfully I was able to uncluster the F'ck I got myself into without bodily, bystander or equipment harm. I did really consider getting the Mystic Stealth surf bar with the slider AND fixed loop to skip having a hook altogether. Someone...

Re: Surviving a death loop

Are you ever unhooking? If not, get a hookless setup (eg slider rope with stainless steel ring). Like this, you avoid the issue with tangling lines on hook systemically. ^ This. Was looking to get one for a Dakine shorts harness but not sure what I can get for that? Anyone can recommend what works ...

Re: Surviving a death loop

Anyway - what is best tactics for this particular kind of death loop in your experience? Knife? 1) immediately use the QR before it has a chance to tangle on your spreader 2) full release 3) grab your harness release and undo the harness, 4) if nothing else works knife. Don't pull lines once it get...

Surviving a death loop

This video (there also is also no 2)shows a way to stop a death loop of the "lines cought under the hook" variety : https://youtu.be/naFKEWEHn6k Had this happen to me last week in shallow water and luckily plenty of sandy beach. Originally problem started when I was fell on top of the slack lines go...

Re: Wetsuit neopren boots not holding my foot?

Mine are actually this style: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/500-3mm-neo-surf-boots-black-id_8403244.html Slightly different and a £1 more. Probably the only difference is the thickness of the soles? Thanks again nothig2see! Those did the trick for me beautifully. Tried them yesterday and no sore toe....

You can also invest in some silicon toe protectors, I use these under body boarding fins and they make a significant difference in comfort.
Thanks - I will try keep the kite higher.
what are those under body boarding fins?

Re: Wetsuit neopren boots not holding my foot?

I fixed this with split toe. Thanks, apollo - what make and model fixed it for you? Did it take the load off your big toe effectively? I kind of start to think it might be more about distributing pressure between big and the rest of the toes equally which might help. I. E. shape of the sole towards...
