Re: Fuerteventura beginning of September kite sizes?

Going to Flag beach beginning of September. Last year was in lanzarote the same time and a lot days were 12mph wind, so a 12m was not enough. Should I take 12 and 17 to the Flag beach or 10+12? I am 95 kg, so my main kite is usually 12 and works for me up to about 24 mph steady wind. I am a beginne...

I would go for 10 and 17. Las Cucharas has more wind than flag beach imho. I have been at both locations several times.
Size difference between 10 and 12 not enough..
Have fun!
Thanks for confirmation that a 17 is a good idea for fb, I was not sure if it worth it..

Re: Wind conditions dictating board length?

Would you say you would be able to do the standard static overhead test - bar in 100% with kite at 12? sounds a bit daft! Exactly my point - one needs 2.5m in 50 mph if one rides 10 in 25. I mean increase in wind by 2x demands decrease of kite size by 2x2=4 times. Similarly 37.5mph/25mph is 1.5.si ...

I've used a 7 quite a bit and my 5 about 10-12 times ,but I know only 1 person with a 4 mtr. Last used my 5 in 50 mph .
Interesting.
Did you feel comfortable and in control with 5m and 50mph?

Re: Wind conditions dictating board length?

Today in the OBX, the wind is 22-27. I have my small quiver of boards 155 lightwave, 148 Spectrum, 137 Ace. Looks kinda choppy out there right now. Is there a rule of thumb for selecting the board by wind conditions?? Rule of thumb: small board + small kite when wind is nuking; big board + big kite...

Re: Surviving a death loop

I was not sure Stealth slider will work with my Dakine Shorts seat harness. Harness does not have the velcro belt panels to tighten the harness on your waist. Does not look like the Stealth bars "wings" will have enough room to go to. Ordered a Mystic Clicker 4.0 bar. It has the steel ring included...

Re: Surviving a death loop

Strangely no one apart from Berdytello (who said it works) actually commented on the idea of pulling the unloaded steering line to stall the kite and stop the death loop. I guess most people did not bother watching the 2 videos from an unknown Russian guy, or/and never been in a death loop situation...

Re: Surviving a death loop

Yeah the "foul hook" thing has happened to me a couple times. Thankfully I was able to uncluster the F'ck I got myself into without bodily, bystander or equipment harm. I did really consider getting the Mystic Stealth surf bar with the slider AND fixed loop to skip having a hook altogether. Someone...
