I bought the Forward Wip wing belt. Simple and light weight. Generally happy with it although the square shape of the section that the belt slides through often catches the harness line and deflects it out and away from the hook when trying to hook in.
I think Wingers who have come from a Kite Foiling background will find the foot swap very easy (assuming they could foot swap when Kite Foiling). I think those coming from a Wind Surf or non foiling background would find it more challenging. I just press down with my back foot in order to raise the ...
I think 950 will be really exciting wing for winging and replacement for 790/1100
Grigorib - Do you think that the new W950, if it has an area of 1450cm2, could be used as a light wind kite foil in the same way as the W790, or is the span too wide to be practical?
Thanks for the reply drsurf. I actually managed a 2hr session on my friend's 3m Peak this arvo using 17m lines. About 17 - 26 kts. Interesting indeed. I answered my own question regarding it's suitability for tacking. It was fine, although It required some adjustment in the timing of the loop initia...
Reading Jyoder's post above, I have a question as a prospective 3m or 4m Peak4 owner. I currently foil strapless on a Moses W683s / S450 combo. I weigh 82kg. My smallest kite is a 6m Reo and my other kite is a 9m Hyperlink. I am an intermediate foiler and enjoy doing frequent and varying transitions...
Hi here. I have an Apollo 60 wing and have been using it for about 8 months. I have never used the Space Skate, so unfortunately can offer no comparison. My first SS wing was the was the original H5 (?) that was part of the Hoverglide set. The Apollo 60 is a great wing. Just like the Moses 633, it's...
Yes, just do it. I've never used straps foiling from day 1. I started on the same set up as you - Hoverglide NF2 and Dwarf Craft 54". It was the heaviest, fastest sinking foil you could buy at the time. Within half and hour I managed a brief ride (2 or 3m) and was addicted. My avatar pic is actually...
I'm currently learning strapless roll tacks - about 5% success, and toe to heel tacks - about 40% success. Main problem with both is having the kite in a position where I am powered enough to foil through the exit. I just need to send it harder at the end I think. The cold weather / water in the Per...
I tried the 633 with 450, 330 and 425 and for me the 425 works best. 450 is very nice but too much front foor for my pocket board (had to shim it then it is +- OK), 330 was too unstable for my liking (lot of pitch). 425 is in between, faster then 450 and perfectly balaced for the 633. My son rides ...
I've just bought a 683s wing and want some advice on good stabs. I'm into strapless free riding and am an intermediate foiler. I tend not to do long runs and like to turn lots in a fairly small area - a Drexler wanna-be I guess. I like doing tacks (heel to toe and toe to heel), 360s etc. I weigh 82k...
