Re: Kitesurf holiday with kids club/ childcare?

We went to Lefkada a few years ago with a 3 yr old. Flights into Preveza from Gatwick and a 20 min drive to the hotel. Great kiting and cheap boat hire for a day off. I still look back 3 years later and think it was the best, uncrowded spot for a kids and kites holiday. https://www.simpsontravel.com...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Question for Peak 4 for users. Favorite self landing method? Thanks I only have the 8m, so this is for winds 8-14 kts. I find i can bring it down on the edge of the wind window, grab an arms length of the lower front line, give it a good hard pull and run towards the kite. It collapses instantly th...

Re: Hayling Island launch?

Turn Left at the roundabout by Funland amusement park. The free beach is the first carpark on your right. You should park the West corner of the carpark and launch to the west of the carpark on the beach. Lots of folk use the signpost on the beach to self launch and land, so keep that area clear. Ke...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

This is just my findings with the kite, I am gybing on the foil and rarely drop a kite, but in sub 10kts i always struggled with relaunch of my Solo 12m. So i have had 3 sessions on the Peak4 8m now. I bought it to use for snowkiting and hoped that it would work well to replace my LiquidForce Solo V...

Re: The Hydrofoil Air Jibe w/Foot Stance Change & Downloop

The move that got me from 75% to over 95% on my gybes was to perform the downloop one handed. As soon as you have switched feet, remove your back hand from the bar and start the downloop with your front hand. You can now use your backhand to help you balance through the healside carve of the gybe. P...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I am looking to replace a Liquid Force Solo V1 12m that i have been foiling with for a few years now. I am interested in the Peak 4 after reading this forum. I would be using it for snowkiting in the Alps and for foiling in 9-13 kts. I weigh 95kg have a Moses Onda and am working on flying tacks;.......

Re: Slingshot dwarfcraft 4'6 or Alien air for beginner?

I started a few years ago with an Alien Air. The main thing with it is that it has a large deck area, nice and wide. It is not particularly light, and this helps to dampen out some of the foil movement when you are just starting out, in comparison the Dwarfcraft will make the same foil feel much mor...

Re: Specific grease for Hydrofoil

I also use Duralac. Easily available at any good chandlery, one tube will last a lifetime for your and all your friends foils. It is slightly tacky and dries hard so has a Loctite effect on the thread. Way, way cheaper than Tefgel.

Re: Sonic FR 11 Long Mixer Test

Hi direnc, I adjusted my FR11 to what the line plan says and it would not open the tips at all, probably the same as you experienced. Do a measure of the mixer and bridal combined by pegging the mixer into the ground and measuring the different line lengths at the underside of the middle of the cano...

Re: Do you disassemble your foilboard after each use?

As Kamikuza says " replace all the metric Allen heads with Torx head bolts". If you can get them in A4 Stainless then all the better. You still need to put some Tefgel or similar on them, but they offer a far better connection to unjam a stubborn bolt. Then if you miss the full wash down after a ses...
