Trying to get a very old flysurfer in shape

Hi My old very well used speed4 lotus 12m has done its Job very well for around 10 years. Lots of repairs inside have been done and it looks fine on the inside. Theres no loose parts hanging inside. Now it started to work way less good since half a year and it only pulls hard when the bar is sheeted...

advice/insight for used racekites/highaspect foilkites 2023

There´s alot of vmg2 kites used for ok prices on the market. I want this type of kite but have stepped away from getting one mainly bacause of there is no way/little chance to relaunch this kite. If I got one I would probably stay closer to the beach when foiling. Im a decent foiler though, I nail g...

This forum is not really race foil friendly.
Everybody s winging theese days....
Is there another forum where kitefoilracing is the topic?
Or another place on the internet?

There was some years ago when gunnar biniash was reviewing race foils, great time, long ago.

Folding wingtip while missing a tack

Hi Have some of you experience with this problem with older foilkites while tacking?: As I crash while missing a tack the foilkite has passed over head and is at between 1-2 a’clock on the new intended side of travel. Im in the water. At this point theres a risk that the Lower wingtip loses all line...

Re: Ozone Chrono v1 - back stalling and sudden power boosts

Its normal behaviour for a foilkite thats High aspect. With no depower you usually stall the kite a bit while sheeting in fully. so then you ride with the bar sheeted out, between fully sheeted out and halfway sheeted in is where you find its Power. Or you depower it alot and ride it that way. its g...

Re: making a safety line with a bungee inside - ideas

I am going to try infexion’s use of a thin PU tube with a small loop at the trim cleat to manage it - this seems like a good option to keep the line out of the way. Can you tell me more about this, please? Any photo? I have the Infexion quick release and I love it. I belive the loop mentioned is th...

Re: Help re-tuning a Sonic 2, am I on the correct path? Bridle/mixer

I have now added pigtails to lengthen b + c + br, to compensate for shrink in the bridle. To get back total the right length in the middle of the kite (mixer test on a1) I would have to add around 12 - 15cm on the b + c + br. If doing so I would lengthen the rest of the kite too much. I was also che...

Re: Help re-tuning a Sonic 2, am I on the correct path? Bridle/mixer

I've tried the adjustment with the PMAs and extending the a1,a2,a3 and a4 with 2cm. well it definitely feels like it gives stability. then flattening the profile with the mixer and as it gets very flat it works and it has performance, but it still has front collapses in the middle of the kite someti...
