Re: Welcome To California - No Kitesurfing

On the other side of the coin, if do nothing and wait until extinction of these birds, then the beach access might open back up haaaaaaaar That brings up another issue. It may be a bit of a stretch for some to make this connection, but it seems that government wildlife agencies and bird watchers ar...

Re: plastic tubes on depower/safety lines - are they a good thing?

Guess Greg Drexler at cloud didn’t get your sermon.. I mean fair play for not falling asleep writing that lot but spare a thought for those of us attempting to make sense of it all. Definitely a complicated subject. More so since most kiters have never even thought of using stall while riding and w...

Re: plastic tubes on depower/safety lines - are they a good thing?

You loop a kite not because you need to, but because you want to. It is not just a desire to loop where you could just turn the kite up and change directions in the same circumstance. Certain approaches or personal styles in wave riding do require a loop for kite repositioning and faster riding dir...

Re: What's the thing with Duotone?

It's a result of marketing. Now I'm not sure what I'm about to tell you remains as true to day as it once was, but the key to Boards & More's early success comes from what we used to joke as 'state sponsored commercial terrorism'. It goes like this, they have a facility in Molne in Austria, which u...

Re: Learning Strapless, what to do first, Jibe, Tack etc?

Great question? I do not think this has been asked before.

My suggestion would be the jibe as it is fundamental to toeside riding, and kite power control. But I forced my self to do strapped first (on my own board).

Re: Welcome To California - No Kitesurfing

Here is a picture of a bird sitting on bird of prey, i mean kite. Love the pic! My only criticism would be that your tone may be detrimental to your stated goals. It is extremely difficult to manipulate a logical and reasonable person. An emotional person, who is incapable of restraining their emot...

Re: plastic tubes on depower/safety lines - are they a good thing?

Either you DO sheet in while looping the kite, or you DON'T. If you DON'T, coated lines are great. And sheeting out while turning the kite is not a real concern with post 2014 PU coatings. What an amazing load of elephant poo. That is quite bizarre. I am sorry if I triggered you. Let me explain a l...

Re: Welcome To California - No Kitesurfing

I'm selling my kites and buying an environmentally friendly power boat. Yup, that is what the good ole government wants! More fees and taxes for you new expensive boat and gasoline for it's 4kpg fuel consumption. Most places in the US are free for kite gear. As far as the birds, At the most popular...
