Re: Wave kite size recommendation

If you already have kites and are buying a pure wave kite.... don't get anything bigger than a 9. Use whatever you've got when its light and use a 7,8,or 9 wave kite once it gets good. Bigger than a 9m and your not really into wave riding territory. Still kiting, still fun, but any kite will do. C ...

I’m not a huge wave rider...yet. I usually ride C kites but want to add 1 wave kite to my quiver....
Most riders that still ride C's, like them on waves.

Are you going for strapless where you need a more tame kite? Or do you just want to get out of C kites?

Re: Can I use a single control bar for all my kites?

Are we talking about LEIs only here? Try to fly a high aspect foil kite like a Sonic with a high Y for example. You are going to feel a difference, believe me! It has way less depower. Distortion of a kite by "Y" distance or "line length" is only concentrated in the leading edge with an inflatable....

Aqua seal vs Shoe GOO

Any one tried substituting Shoe GOO for Aquaseal? I love Aquaseal, but it is pretty ridiculous in price compared to Shoe GOO.

Re: Can I use a single control bar for all my kites?

I kinda hesitated hitting send on my post but thought something needed to be said. The best discussion comes from forum users that don't self censor. This forum is a discussion about our individual vs group approach to kiteboarding. Whether you have your take on things shot down, corrected, or agre...

Re: Can I use a single control bar for all my kites?

Well, they say that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. But that sounds like particularly dangerous advice to me. Especially on an unfamiliar 6m on the biggest bar you have. You could easily unintentionally loop it and launch yourself into a car or a tree before you even have time to blink. I...

(Caveat: For foil kites, I use separate bars that remain attached to the kites.)
Yep, I do to. Forgot to add that about foil kites. But I only use foils on snow or an occasional demo on the water.

Re: Do Twin tips get softer or flexier over time?

Non of my boards got loose over time. If you are the primary one riding that board, you will not notice it getting soft. If you use that board for a week, and then someone puts 100,000km through nasty chop the next day, you would notice it just a bit if you rode that board again. If it is your boar...

Re: Board leashes are cool for wave kite??

(Chime in, "bucket effect" folks.) The bucket effect is primarily an issue with a helmet that fits too loose or a chin strap that has not been tightened. If you have good fit, and manage your chin strap, you minimize this effect to where it is extremely unlikely that you will ever experience the bu...

Re: Can I use a single control bar for all my kites?

Besides that, a 6m on a 50cm bar can be a bit twitchy/too fast for some riders. Smaller bars are a great "crutch" for those just just starting to go down in size, and up in wind speed. They can make your initial experience much more comfortable because they limit ultimate turning speed. Later on in...
