Re: Warmest wetsuit ever

My local is 2C to 5C now (35f to 41f). 5/4/3 2011 closeout NPX is fine for me, but may not be for you. Always consider: 1. Are you a person who can handle the cold better than others? If so that could be an additional 15 to 30 seconds you can survive cold water immersion longer than the average pers...

Re: Another UK Fatality

Again, I do not agree with the above, but the president has been set. Has said policy changed? Now that's a delicious malapropism that I've never seen before! Yes, talk to text. It's nice that you are, once again, at my service. At least to the degree to which you are capable, though proof re...

Re: Another UK Fatality

Not sure the discussion about doing board off practicality vs pdf vs inflato belt really has its place in this thread. Poor bloke has died, have a bit of respect and if you and Rick want to get into it start a new thread. I don't necessarily agree, but it is true as has been shown in the past. Reme...

Re: 3 or 5 strut for bigger riders

The additional struts strengthen the frame of the kite better, and fuller figured individuals need that. The shape gives you different behaviours........... .....I think struts matter more than shape if you are boosting for a heavy rider. Are you saying kite size does not just scale with weight??? ...

Re: 3 or 5 strut for bigger riders

Why do anyone make kites with 5 struts? To support the canopy. You can put 5 struts on lower aspect kites, so the number of struts is not the key, but the shape of the kite and bridle it has. Obviously, there are more parameters...but as a general rule...a high AR kite usually needs more struts for...

Re: Bar interoperability

Back in the day Ocean Rodeo did not use equal length lines so in the newer kites the rear bridle lines needed to be different lengths when you used a newer bar as they did change to 4 equal length lines eventually. And they supplied a number of different rear line lengths with the kites to adjust f...

Re: Eco

Yes, bla blah blah..... Interesting anecdote. Any species that grows into overpopulation reaches the same self-limiting endpoint. From the view point of the species it is never pretty. From the viewpoint of the planet it is just what happens. It cycles, a available food decreases, population drops,...

Re: Eco

Not to worry, whether we are capable of voluntary change or not, overpopulation is a self-limiting problem. Although humans may not like the outcome. Any thoughts on how the environment will like an overpopulation of humans? And what do you think will be the environmental impact of "desperately try...

Re: Eco

Its been said here multiple times. ! Many people fear communism, socialism etc. But what we should fear the most is consumerism. We are all in the grip of consumerism. Communism and socialism is not feared, but rather the totalitarianism, genocide, democide that seems inseparable from it. I work fo...
