I knew there would be 100 responses. Everyone has an opinion it's the kite it's the board it's the technique. I know for me the real reason is too many donuts.

Re: What influences going upwind

From what i have seen with people riding twin tips and surfboards is this : Some of them were constantly going 5 degrees less upwind than all the others. What did they all have in common you ask ? Helmets  From what i have seen with people riding twin tips and surfboards is this: Some of them...

Re: Bad news, prices are going up

Core do a shit ton of marketing and comp representation that must eat a chunk of budget, + I think they always went for the premium product business model... The old Core was very much focused on image and hype. To be fair, some decent products came out of that by either design or happy accident. B...

Re: Bad news, prices are going up

Kite companies would probably save a load of money if they didn't insist on having a whole line up of new gear every year. Lets face it, its mostly minor tweaks and colour / graphic changes at this stage. Some small to medium size snowboard brands are starting to buck this trend. Instead of bringin...

Re: What influences going upwind

Of course going from a tt to a hydrofoil is going to make a huge difference. But that is not, I think, what the op was asking. Which will make a bigger difference, switching from one tt to another tt or switching kites is the question? If this is the question then probably kite changes it more. Not...

Re: Pre aneurism in bladder

Maybe it could be the valve? I have experienced Boston valves which when very used needed to be tightened more (or a new sealing ring), as otherwise it can have a very slow leak. The same could probably be the case for other valve systems, and it shows by sometimes holding air just fine, other time...

Re: Bad news, prices are going up

Good news for people who want to sell older gear and for dealers who stocked up. Kites are way simpler and smaller now, time to become more modest on profit margins otherwise and/or improve efficiency of operations. My supplier bumped prices up 10% and I can’t afford losing customers and raising pr...

Re: Kiteboard helmet for long head

This is a pretty essential tool. https://www.harborfreight.com/power-tools/heat-guns-knives-seamers/heat-guns/1500-watt-11-amp-dual-temperature-heat-gun-56434.html But use the low setting and go slow. And it also doubles as a snowboard waxing device that will work with an 800w inverter run off your ...

Re: Kiteboard helmet for long head

Many helmets like the Protec Ace fit tight on the front and back and loose on the sides. The fix is easy. Tie a strap or rope around the helmet very tightly and make it very compressed side to side. Then take a heat source like a hair dryer to it for a while. You will permanently deform it. :-) I h...
