Re: What are the world's best hydrofoil travel destinations?

Have look on Montenegro spot Ulcinj - (velika plaza) Season June- September. Warm, wind range 10 to 25 knots, thermal side on shore. Lots of beach bars, places to visit in no wind day. Cheep flights to 4 airports that are less then 3 hours away (Dubrovnik, Tirana, Podgorica and Tivat). Deep water af...

Re: Inexpensive long-term Kite destination Feb-April

Thailand. 500 to 700 euro for all expenses (accommodation, motorbike, food and drinks) monthly. February not so good but March and April thermal constant wind every afternoon. Warm and cheep. How strong is the wind? In Hua Hin ? Depends on the day, could be 10-15 knots, or 15-20 if it’s good day. S...

Re: Thailand Koh phangan

Never been there, but I heard that’s not windy in that part of year (thermal wind season) because the size of the island is small for thermal to work properly. Hua hin area and Pak nam pran are really good in that part of year. You can stop there for couple of days on your way to Koh phangan.

Nice wallet or bag could be made from old kite. If you have interest in that or you know someone who can make them could be nice gift.

Re: Hua Hin - Used gear market

In KBA schools in hua Hin you can buy new kites and boards from Cabrinha, Airush, and some Slingshot and F-one. There is one North (duotone) school so I assume they are selling that brend. KBA has a really nice prices, I bought there unused Cabrinha Contra 13m with recoil bar from one season behind ...

Re: slingshot sst

Been there, asked the same question. There is a tiny webbing loop - by the inflation valve I think. The slingshot pump has a hook that fits it. I just added a 15cm pigtail to that loop. (Great kites, but they seem a bit obsessed with keeping all pigtails as short as possible. For example, you have ...

Re: Pranburi, Thailand

For Thailand I would say that Pranburi (Pak nam pran) is the best place to kitesurf in March/April. Wind is usually blowing 15-20 knots in afternoon but can be lighter. Bring your biggest kites or even better foil board. For 80 kg rider on twin tip I would recomend 15/11 m2. It’s quite place, not to...

Re: Why is everyone hating on old kites ?

I still have my Epic screamer from 2010, works normaly. Also tried this summer Gaastra Jekyll from 2009. Nice kite. So, I think there are good old kites, but the condition can be questionable.

Re: Thailand: Hua Hin vs Rawai (Phuket)

If you prefer more quiet place, I would go to pranburi close to hua hin. The same wind. I have been to Phuket but I didn't go kiting. Won't go again there :) It's overcrowded Totally agree, I spent 4 months in Pranburi/Pak nam pran. Better wind than in Hua Hin. Empty beaches, lots of space, very ni...
