Re: learning to foil behind a boat

I like behind the boat for foil learning if you have one and don't get wind all the time. Do all the drills! start with your strong foot forward. touch and go: on the surface to on foil and back to surface. learns balance front to back. Gives you a way to ride downwind if you are stuck upwind withou...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Hi all, quick question: which size Peak4 will continue to fly in the lowest wind? That is, static flying....not riding? I've got a 5m and trying to decide it a larger size would assist with my local wind conditions of excessive lulls. I am guessing the 13m is the answer, but am not sure. F-Bear, I ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

First session on the 4m today. The peaks are a big improvement for me. Love the 5, adore the 4. What kind of wind range? I was out on Erie today with the Gong MPro & a 6m wave kite. Wind was probably in the 12-15 kt range (couple of other guys were out on TT with boots & 15m tube kites struggling t...

Re: Ageing foil kites

I am interested in hearing real world results. I stumbled across this video from OurKiteLife. At 4:00min, they are interviewing Armin Harich, founder of flysurfer, and discussing fabric porosity He states the older material in FS kites had a 500 hour life. The PU silicone material in the soul kites ...

Re: New Pansh vs used Ozone / Flysurfer

I am asking myself the same question. I appreciate all the good responses this has generated. For me options from cheaper to more. 1) Pansh Genesis->Aurora->A15 2) Used Chrono v2, Sonic 2, Hyperlink V1 (One generation older) 3) Peak4 8m or 11m 4) Soul, Hyperlink v2, Chrono v3, Sonic3 I know this cov...

Re: Flysurfer Peak4 in 5 m2, truly stoked

Jyoder, Interesting question. Certainly tricky conditions for the one kite you rig. My small quiver currently is 4m Peak4, 5m Peak4 and your cloud 5.5. Thank you for selling me the cloud. Opened my eyes to a new world of kites for a foiling world. After about 20 days on the Cloud, I got the 4m to go...

Re: Foil Riding stance, bean pole vs poo stance

Bean Pole. :) Strapless, waist harness, 633, 5.5 Cloud from some great guy on the east coast. Thanks, Jyoder.
Next step is making a bar with a offset low friction ring for center lines. Thanks, Jyoder.

Next question, Jyoder, what gear, conditions, speeds are you rocking when doing the poo?

Re: Buying advice: starting foiling - moses 633 or Cabrinha Carve?

Both are good options. Both have a large area surf wing. Cabrinha pluses: More affordable shorter mast options. The board's rounded nose will be more friendly on touchdowns to the water surface after being up on foil. Board can be used as a directional surfboard without the foil. Moses pluses: Aweso...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Kiterisland, You can go upwind plenty on the Peak4. At the top of the range, you can drive nicely upwind but less than LEI. At the low side of the range, there is a point that you are barely staying upwind. It is more fun to play with this lower edge, than go to shore. You loop and fly the kite aggr...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Flyboy, I am a new peak4 user and very pleased. To answer your question about launching on the rock shore, could you launch a 2 line trainer kite (2-3m) at that spot and safely fly it to the windier zone to start? The peak will be very similar. I picked up a 4m, I love having a kite that floats in t...
