Re: Slingshot Key or other old kites?

Oldish kites like the Key are fine if still in good condition ***except for one thing: eventually, all inflatable kites have issues with the valves delaminating and thus leaking air. They’re repairable but can be a pita and there are at least 7 of them on a typical 3 strut one-pump kite. I personall...

They say its light but don’t post the numbers. Anybody with weights? uses single ripstop, good start. .3 mm bladder is not the lightest tho. Hope they meant .03 Even LF has used .1mm Its interesting they have the sst, ghost, and ufo. Thats a lot of models targeted for a similar user, they must be se...

Re: Foil Strap Inserts stripped

Simply bump up another screw size. The walls of the plastic insert box are thick enough. The threads on the new screws should be aggressive and sharp like a coarse wood screw, sharp to the touch, you want them to cut in, not all threads are equally sharp, also the suggestion to remove the pointed ti...

Re: Eleveight vs Naish Leading Edge pressure

Pump rock hard then go rock out. 6psi is a joke. I pump my OR flites to 9-10 on the wmfg gauge and have pretzeled them up in the waves enough times to know that its FINE and they use some of the lightest dacron in the industry. Are you planning to tether tomahawk your kite onto asphalt? If the answe...

Re: Diversity in the Kiteboarding community

Poverty is the barrier of getting into this sport and many other sports. Really any activity requiring even basic equipment, plus transportation and plenty of free time, will unfortunately exclude a massive chunk of this world as things stand today. So the answer to the question is the same as the a...

Re: Towing a rider

He means to kite with enough power to get a regular surfer up and riding behind him using a tow rope. I haven’t done it. But If I were to try I’d say you'd want to be good-n-powered and have the level/ability to hold it down by yourself obviously since the passenger drops off and into the wave or wh...

Re: Duotone Rebel 2020 vs RRD Addiction 2020

Depends if you want reactive/lively steering or not. One or other is not better just a personal preference people have. The addiction will have more reactive fast and playful steering, and the rebel will be more of set it and forget it thus less likely to get away from you if you’re not paying atten...

Re: Introducing the World's Lightest and Strongest Kites - Aluula

In the Real vid, they say aluula 14.5 flite is 5.8 lbs (2.6kg) however weight is listed at 4.9 lbs (2.2kg) most other places including their description page.
Thats a big discrepancy! Which is it?
Stafford maybe you can clear it up?
