Re: Quiver Dilemma: Pulley, non-Pulley Kites mix

fly whatever you like. I think most of the hydrofoilers are using foil kites at least occasionally. Now there's a huge difference between a tube and a foil kite. It's harder to dial in tricks on every kite when the kites are so different because the timing will be different. That's about it. Thanks...

Re: Quiver Dilemma: Pulley, non-Pulley Kites mix

i think learning how different kites fly makes you a better pilot, and different models are better in different sizes. i have a 2015 rally 12m, and i think its a pig, but relaunch is great and it pulls good. Thanks Vakiter, so you think the 2015 12m Rally you have is slow? Meaning slow-turning?

Re: Quiver Dilemma: Pulley, non-Pulley Kites mix

I've never flown either of those two kites but I'd be surprised if you couldn't get used to both of them - although you might prefer one over the other. Keep in mind that the Ultras are much bigger (and therefore slower) than the rally's. You should only really compare the two 12's with each other....

Quiver Dilemma: Pulley, non-Pulley Kites mix

Hi All, I am in a bit of a dilemma about which way to go with kites. My weight : 190+ lbs. Skill Level : Beginner. Location : In-land lakes of Minnesota, US. Gusty winds and a lot of times, Choppy waters. Kites I have : 2017 SlingShot Rally 9m; 2015 SlingShot Rally 12m, Airush Ultra V2 12m; Airush U...

Re: Airush Ultra 12m as Main Kite for Twin-Tipping

They won't rip you off the water like a C hybrid kite and since the kite it designed to drift it wont shoot forward so you will make a not too bad jump but go downwind more than on some other kites. The hangtime is decent! Thanks Windigo1. Since you mentioned "shooting forward" and "going downwind"...

Re: Airush Ultra 12m as Main Kite for Twin-Tipping

Just to clarify, u are concerned of jumping with Ultra and a water relaunch? Concern with jumping - for near future when I'm ready to try jumping, hopefully this summer :( Concern with water relaunch - current. However, this isn't a big concern in general because I'm good at it . Only that one time...

Re: Airush Ultra 12m as Main Kite for Twin-Tipping

Negatives are: relatively bad relaunch, jumping, kitebag Thanks RadDrDuke. The things you say make sense. The simplicity and ease-of-use reasons are why I wanted the Ultra, so that I progress better with general kiting and freeriding, maybe until the non-jumping part of learning. But from what you'...

Re: Airush Ultra 12m as Main Kite for Twin-Tipping

Thanks everyone. I think the verdict is mostly unanimous here. The Ultra will work for what I'm looking for, but certainly not the best option. Given that I put so much thought into what gear to get, and I want whatever helps me the most with progression, I think I'll go for 3-strut all-round freeri...

Airush Ultra 12m as Main Kite for Twin-Tipping

Hi Kiters, Following are my details before I ask my question. Weight : 190 lbs Kiting Skill : Beginner-intermediate. Can ride both directions and also ride upwind, but not with much confidence, and not perfectly. Only TT freeriding for now, and near future. Kiting Location : In-Land lakes of Minneso...

Re: My first sessions with the Flysurfer Soul 12, a short video

Thanks everyone. 2 more questions: 1. 15mt vs 18 mt?. I weigh 190+ lbs. In-land Lakes here do not have consistent winds. So lightwind suddenly picks up to higher gusts. I usually hear foils are more powerful than their same-size LEI equivalents. I noticed that myself, while snowkiting this winter. A...
