Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

The flying wing ding is a joke, right? Why would you kite with a wing ding? There a things called kites that work really well for kiting.

Re: Smaller lower aspect wing vs. bigger higher aspect

If you size a low aspect wing and a high aspect wing so that they have the same amount of lift at a particular speed, the high aspect wing will be smaller, and make less drag, thus allowing it to accelerate further. However at low speeds it will stall before the high aspect wing and it will require...

Re: Smaller lower aspect wing vs. bigger higher aspect

Higher aspect wings are more efficient. They make more lift per a given amount of drag. This is why they are used on race foils, sailplanes, and the sails of racing yachts. But they fly at a lower range of angles of attack, which means they generally will not go as slow, nor will they tolerate mist...

Re: Smaller lower aspect wing vs. bigger higher aspect

Good topic. What if I look for the pumpability (to get better low end) from the foil, assuming the same area (cm2), what would be better; thinner higher AR wing or lower AR wing (they seem to be fatter)? Also, from these above two options, which one would be more agile ie. better turning? Thanks! H...

Those are tips from people "who cannot slack a lines".
You can not overspeed wind by looping your kite. If you think you can you are just too slow downwind.
Thank you. The most over rated advice: "loop your kite down wind"

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Another session this afternoon with the 5m in 14-17 knts with dead onshore wind and waves. It is just so much fun chasing swell with this kite! On the other hand I'm sad to inform you all that physics still apply to the peak: I can definitely outrun the kite in these conditions and on one occasion ...

Re: The reason to wing. Can't do this with a kite

Today I was out in 2m + waves and 23 -31 knots wind side on winds. Concept Air Wave 4,5m and gong M pro foil. Perfect setup. I could ride in any direction, straight downwind riding wave, 30 km/ hr and the kite just drifts. I didn't have to care about it. Just before pulling out of the wave, I'd jus...
