Re: 6 and 4 m2 ?

See how often you end up wishing you had a 5 when you are either on the 6 or the 4. I don’t have any gaps because I always want to use the best size possible.

Re: I'm not convinced (but want to be)

Not for me - it is definitely an awesome fun wind sport, and I love playing around even if flat or small chop, riding holding the wind in your bare hands (great feel, so much more natural) and carving and practicing transitions and everything. No way it is a way to transport to waves only, for me. ...

Re: I'm not convinced (but want to be)

I’ll go one step further and say for me personally, winging is not really a wind sport but more a foil riding and foil surfing sport. It’s about trying to catch and ride the smallest bump to breaking waves. The wing and wind are just a way to get there.

Re: 3 ways to tack with a Wingfoil

Please, let’s not start the “real” tack nonsense. If you don’t know the definition, look up the sailing term. Sailboats don’t have feet.

Lip is the best quality for vision and impact safety. Also, great retention system.

Re: high aspect foils

Probably not that useful to compare specs between manufacturers unless they all standardize their methodology. For example, in calculating AR, some use actual SA, others use projected.

Re: Wingsurfing vs Windsurfing

Blimey, it looks SO wrong that the wingfoiler does not jibe, but ride toeside instead, for long tacks  Learn to jibe  8) Peter While it's fairly uncommon in kite foiling to see riders who don't switch feet (though I have been one of them), I think you will see this more often in win...

Re: Wingfoiling Harness

I don’t think I would ever use a harness unless I was doing some very extended upwind reaches for some particular reason. The hook always scratches the board. Just another piece of equipment. Holding the wing builds arm strength.

Re: Beginner Wing Foiling Equipment

120-130 L board. Biggest foil wing from the brand you end up going with. Consider Gofoil, Armstrong and Axis. If you don't having any foiling experience, I would strongly recommend against buying a high aspect foil. They are much harder to learn on. As far as the wing, the market is still very young...
