Re: Chinese Execution Tech. Adapted For Fun In France?

I'm not seeing the dangers of which you speak. You're tethered via harness and static lines that won't let you hit the ground, and the bungee to the ground won't let you swing back to hit the main support arm. The kite seems to be on handles so you can probably just let go.

Looks like fun.

Re: Alert: The Start of Worldwide Rules Against Kiteboarding

with all due respect. how will "No Kitesurfing in more than 6-7bft is BULLSHIT" get the right attention. Start a proper petition, worded well with no emotion. with this attitude you will get nowhere. I agree. The wording and attitude are extremely confrontational and off-putting. As a kiter I under...

Re: Lost @ Sea

Call the Coast Guard to let them know there's no missing rider. If that kite gets spotted out there, they'll go into full search and rescue mode. This is one of our local kiter's accounts: I got caught on the inside and my kite went down trying to get back out and a wave ate my kite and then it star...

Re: Need Help - Solution for surfer that has correction glasses

Are contact lenses an option? If so, get disposables (they're better for your eye health anyway), and take an extra pair or two with you when you kite since you can lose one in a really serious wipeout.

Re: Kiteboarder riding in the NY Harbor on Hurricane Ida

It's a stunt, and the kiting in the harbor is terrible, not to mention dangerous. Nobody who has done it has ever gone back to do it again.

Every few years somebody does it. I think Skatoor may have been the first to do it back in 2000 or so.

Re: kite pants / bugs

Sounds just like the stuff we get at a particular beach here in Brooklyn - elsewhere in the area too, but especially at that beach. Since you're in Jersey, it's probably the same thing. It's definitely a water thing. Sea lice is the closest thing we can figure. They affect people differently, but yo...
