Re: Warning, never do this!

1. A supertanker stop the engine about 25 km from the harbour and glide towards the harbour.. You better keep clear or die. 2. Sailing rules for coastal/leisure sailing are for sailing and have nothing to do with offshore tankers/ships. 3. Sailracing rules have even less to do with large Ships/Vesse...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

It's testing for the outright speed record.

Do they really need all those bridles? Wind resistance??

Probably playng safe now and possible take some bridles off later on.

Re: Ram Air Wing from Ozone

Modern AC75 high speed sailboats employ ellipsoid masts. These masts combined with sail strain control dynamically changes the airfoil profile of the sail. "Bleeding edge" technology. Simply amazing, take a look: :thumb: IMG_3905.jpeg AC 75 do not have ellipsoid masts. They have double skin sails a...

Re: My experiences with some Gong foilwings

Without the stab, the wing will rotate forward and dive unless you have back foot preassure or stand further back than normal. The stab have downforce when you are kiting at your normal stance. The faster you go the more the stab downforce will be. A perfect setup is when the stabs downforce is exac...

Re: The Hybrid from Flysurfer

I have 4m ca firefly. It has about the same range as the hybrid 5.5. I guess I can try it in 20+ knots and see if it works on a surfboard. 20 knots is close to max range on foil for me. I can do a bit more but the kite isnt as friendly above 20 knots.

Re: Airwave Alma single skin hybrid

I shared some preliminary information on the kite in another thread (in the hydrofoil section, of all places! :) ). I have used now the 8m and the 6m, and am beginning to understand those kites better. With the proviso that I have NOT tried the Marabou v.2 or the Hybrid, I can tell you that the tho...

Re: Flag out line shrinkage or too long depower line??

Dyneema lines shrinks when they have low or none tension. It is vibration dirt and salt that makes them shorter (and thicker). Rinse the lines in freshwater and stretch them to the original length.
