Re: Predictions for Ram Airs in 2021

He will never be completely right. Foils kites will always be superior to LEIs for racing - they have superior lift to drag ratio and this is proven on the race course.

Certainly Aluula is closing the gap for light wind riding compared with foil kites. But I dont think it's quite there yet.

Fish collisions

I had the most bizarre session - I was out for around 90 minutes and I was hitting fish (whilst in deep water) around every minute - often knocking me off the foil. It got so bad that I ended up finishing my session early! The water is very silty and murky where I kite - The only reason I'm sure it ...

Re: Ozone Chrono V4

twintip or hydrofoil? I try to pull the TT out every 2-3 months so I can say I’m a Kiteboarder. Usually in 8m conditions. But I will find a time to ride the V4 with TT. These days I look forward to lighter and lighter winds. This is the 15. My favorite iKite sensor read 5g9 knots. 331FDD4B-CF42-4C4...

Re: Benefits of small double skin foil kites for freeride hydrofoil?

Thanks Foil and Adventurelogs - this is just the sort of information that I was looking for. I saw a 5m hyperlink which I was semi- tempted to buy. If I was planning a snowkite trip then I could probably justify it more easily.

Benefits of small double skin foil kites for freeride hydrofoil?

I've owned a few big foil kites (11m and 13m Chrono V3 Ultralight) and the benefit for light wind hydrofoil is obvious compared with LEI kites. With smaller size foil kites such as 5m and 7m the benefits are less obvious to me as any kite will fly well in 15+knots required for these kites. I'm inter...

Re: Benefits of small foil kites for freeride hydrofoil?

Can anyone answer my original question? I.e. for double skin water-relaunchable foil kites?

I have no interest in single skin foil kites because their relaunch is inferior and their lift for doing big jumps is inferior.

Re: Benefits of small foil kites for freeride hydrofoil?

i can't comment on water pursuits , but from a landboarding point of view you can get great power return from using a smaller kite and really throwing it about fast and i love that way of flying ,sliding flicking myself about -you could get higher jumps with a bigger kite and a slower pace but a sl...

Re: iUp by Taaroa - the first intelligent hydrofoil

I'm not sure it's such a great application for kite-foiling. However, for e-foiling I think it's an excellent idea. As kiteboarders we take for granted all the board skills we have learned over 100's of hours. Here is a video of Will Smith learning to E-foil. I'm sure he would have appreciated some ...

Nice! Do you notice any difference between the new 101cm mast and the older 101cm mast?
