Re: Buying used lightwind kite Beginner Help

600 including a bar isn´t bad. I thought it was 600 for the kite. Big kites are generally more expensive so... As for it being a good idea or not I think others are in a better position than me to answer that question. I got a lot more weight to push back with if overpowered than you got. If that is...

Re: Buying used lightwind kite Beginner Help

Have you ever ridden a 17m? I got one, but I´m 220lbs+. Not saying it is impossible for lighter riders, but they tend to pull you quite hard. I don´t know the Flite, but generally speaking I would say 2014 is no problem. When I replaced my old 12m (might have been 2014 or maybe even slightly older) ...

Re: Casualty in Sicily

I have called 112 in a stressed situation myself. So yes I did remember. To me 911 is not easier than 112. I didn’t think of calling 911 when I called 112. Emergency numbers are not something you change lightly. It is fine that the younger generation that have grown up with American movies relate 91...

Re: Casualty in Sicily

European bureaucrats? What a stupid thing to say. 112 even works in the US. 112 is as standardised as it gets. Surprising no-one knew that on that beach. As for the accident it just fills me with sadness. I have seen people getting thrown onto the beach, but obviously never seen anyone be so unlucky...

Re: Kitesurfing Sardinia

I really enjoyed Calasetta. Great little village with a decent beach. Not sure if I have ever met so many friendly people in a small place ever. Also in June there were hardly any tourists there (which to me is positive). Short drive from Punta Trettu. I'll probably go back some day. You need to lik...

Re: 3 kites starter pack

Should probably point out my experience is from TT. Others would know better than me, but directional with a 17m? With the kind of “torque” you are getting with those that sounds difficult to me. And maybe a bit boring? 12 and 9 should still overlap just as good. But you might want to plan a bit sma...

Re: 3 kites starter pack

Went through the same process myself. 17-12-9 works really well. I'm sure there might be some small differences between brands and types of kites, but for me they overlap each other almost perfectly. When I get overpowered on the 12 my 9 feels fine (slightly boring). Same between 17 and 12. 17 and 1...

Re: Ozone enduro v2 + Alpha

9 + 12m Enduro is a brilliant combination.

There is a fairly long post about the Alpha live here at the moment. Seems like it is quite versatile. For travelling I can certainly see the point, but if that 1kg or whatever it is doesn't matter then the Enduro should be a better alternative.

Re: What's the thing with Duotone?

They changed the name but the gear only gets small changes. They were good before, they are good now, that’s why you see many of them. First of all I agree with the OP. I have wondered about the same thing myself. And I guess this is also part of it, but is the gear that much better compared to Cab...

Re: Thailand Kitesurfing ?

Some friends of mine was in Hua Hin some weeks ago. Looked decent from a video I received. They were jumping around a bit, but definitely light. And as far as I know it will be getting lighter and lighter every day now. Personally I wouldn't want to drag a bag with me, but obviously depends on how y...
