Re: North Rebel 2018 or Duotone Mono 2020 for a beginner

I basically got a 9m and 13m Edge now. Not sure how necessary it is with a 11m in between. Of course if you got the money and maybe live in a windy spot I could see the point, but personally I don't think I will miss not having an 11 much. Very necessary. N+1 is the correct number of kites to own. ...

Re: Single strut kite in strong wind

Will it work? Sure, but it is kind of the opposite of what most of these kites are made for. For me it depends on a) how good the deal is b) how often will you ride under these conditions c) what your plans are in terms of progression. If you get a great deal for a kite you won’t use much anyway the...

Re: Panama vs Cuba in November

How much kiting do you want to do? Are you OK with the occasional day over those 45 days - or would you kite every day if you could? I never went to Cuba, but I have done a lot of research about kiting there as I used to go to the Caribbean every winter for some years. From what I could gather wind ...

Re: Edge V9 but lighter bar pressure

I don't mind the bar pressure on the Edge V11, but I wouldn't say it is light - medium maybe? I never ridden a Pivot though so can't compare it.

Orbit I believe is known for having a light bar pressure.

Re: Ozone infinity V2 144 vs 148

It isn't all about length though. These boards are quite wide. Vs 140x42 (as a baseline) the 144x47 is about 15% bigger and the 148x48 is about 21% bigger. I am in the funny position that I believe most kiters would benefit from larger boards (even this idea of having almost the smallest possible bo...

Re: Ozone infinity V2 144 vs 148

I can't comment on that board specifically and I am all for "bigger boards" than the trend from at least 3-5 years ago, but as a general comment 148x48 is very large. My current board is 140x43 and ideally that could have been a bit larger, but unless I was doing very very specific low wind kiting (...

Re: We lost a brother today...be careful out there

That is so sad. Interesting that it seems to have come out of nowhere. Would be very useful to know if it is something one can be able to understand if it happens to you or if it was just complete randomness. Most kiters don't just release if the wind picks up - as it isn't necessary, but clearly in...

Re: Do you ever buy a "spare" kite

For me not having owned that many kites trying new ones is part of the fun. I can see why you might want have a spare if you absolutely love one kite though. A new kite won’t always be better.

Re: Accommodation Brazil

Yeah. It isn't so strange. Clearly the competitive situation changed to Fortaleza as soon as KLM pulled out. Even when KLM were there TAP were a lot more expensive (at least all the times I checked).

I guess this is a bit off topic anyway.

Hoping ToeRag will like Kite Cabana.
