Re: Why is wingfoiling so popular?

I think a lot of kitefoilers got comfortable and set on surfy foils, never really progressed to high level riding, and then switched to wingfoil as a wave riding tool. Example, the Moses 633 + Peak4 or Cloud crew. If I had to kitefoil on a short slow surf foil and undersized kite, I’d probably be wi...

Re: Slingshot UFO 11m

Yes, but it’s best to pull the bottom front line so the kite falls on its back instead of the other way like with strutted kites. Once you pull the bottom front line and get the kit eon it's back, it's also important that you move upwind so that the front line makes a 45 degree angle with the direc...

Re: I prefer Hybrids over Peaks, and it’s not only because of relaunch.

Nice! Drifting maneuvers are so fun! However, 6m Peak and 7.5m Hybrid are pretty big kites to be focused on drift (foiling I assume). What maneuvers or points of sail did you notice the difference? Were you foiling in waves? What was the limiting behavior of the 6m Peak? Slacking of the lines when t...

Is it possible to self-land the UFOs? I am thinking about getting a quiver of v3. Still debating whether I should get 6 + 8 or 7 + 9.

Re: Shoulder pains flying small peaks

Also, on long tacks I often rest my shoulder muscles by holding the bar with hand inverted from normal position. Nice rest and relaxing position for foiling distances.

Re: Shoulder pains flying small peaks

Problem: Riding toeside with lots of carving and kite movement means your shoulder often is in a position where, if it’s internally rotated, you are at risk of muscle injury. Just hold a light stick in your hand and move it around with internal shoulder rotation and you will feel it straining your i...

Can also try tying back lines to anchor and pulling hard to stretch them back out.

Re: Foil wings are like wines...

A few years ago, the Moses 633 foil was king and everyone raved about it as the only foil they’d ever need. I eventually got one but found it slow and draggy. Sold it. Now it seems most of those 633-loving foilers have all moved on to wingfoil. The kiters here who still kitefoil all tend to ride sm...

Re: Anyone use flippers?

Isn’t it a PITA with a PFD when summer and only in shorts?
I wear a full hooded rash guard for sun protection now and PFD is non-issue.
