Re: Sabfoil released Medusa Pro wings 699, 769, 869

Confirmed re the shims. I never understood why Sabfoil provides a handful of shims but only positive ones, no negative ones?!?
I cut one of the positive ones to fit the back of the fuselage. Not as nice as what I see on the pictures above, but does the job...

Re: Maldives. Guraidhoo Kaafu atoll. My nr.1

Wow, congrats! I have been to the Maldives a couple of times on family vacations, always took my foiling gear (biggest size 11m LEI) and was never disappointed! Almost every day was foilable, amazing nature all around. We once stayed at a resort with a large lagoon in the Raa Atoll, where I mainly k...

Re: Compatibility Sabfoil - Slingshot

Thanks a lot for the info!! I ride Sabfoil Kraken stuff (a whole range of foils, 93 mast) but want a longer one .. (had an old pre-Kraken Moses 101 and liked the length more for kitefoiling compared to the 93..) So given that both Sabfoil and Slingshot have new products, no more real compatibility i...

Compatibility Sabfoil - Slingshot

Hi, I have been a long term Sabfoil user and thus have a range of their foils. I am now looking for a longer Mast (>100cm) but unfortunately, Sabfoil only has the race version of the 104, which is not suitable for jumping and freestyle. I vaguely remember having read in some forum thread that there ...

Re: Long mast - is it a con?

Long mast all the way! If you own a 72cm, just try a 100cm mast and you will see a MASSIVE difference for all the reasons outlined in the previous posts. You will even feel a difference between 90 and 100 cm..
Worth it!

Re: can a 3 strut dlab be better than a 1 strut kite for foiling?

I confirm most of the above: Depends on what you want to do. Switch from TT to foil = 3 strut Aluula kite. Foil only= One/ no strut kite. The shape also plays a role. I recently tested the famed NEO SLS (which is promoted as the new foil weapon by Duotone) against a Mono in the same size in about 8-...

Re: Olympics - Kiteboarding set for lift-off at Paris 2024

Yes, Max Maeder was pretty solid across events this year. Other contenders are the French riders (they have many that could medal, but only one will go...), Toni Vodisek, Denis Taradin, Conor Bainbridge ... (You have to weigh 90kg+ to stand a chance..) I believe its pretty open, so depending on the ...

Re: Foldable mast

Dont forget traveling. Use a splitboard and foldable mast and you put your foiling gear (with a "normal" length mast) in a conventional suitcase.
I am sure there are easier engineering solutions for this than the one on the video, but its definitely a niche.

LOL, why do they call a single strut "Code Zero"? Shouldn't that be a no strut? Or be Called Code One or Code Mono?
Because the "Code Zero" sail in sailing is the light wind sail :-)

Re: Advice for learning to tack and 360

Definitely go for the 360 on your strong side first. The tack is then just an aborted 360 with foot switch. For the 360, here are a few key points: - Make sure your body remains the extension of the mast at all times. This will prevent you to get off balance - Have the kite at 12 ("neutral")when you...
