Re: Sealing alu strut - still a no-no?

Love the XPS solution. I'll do that to my Spitfire.

Re: Twintip straight to foil....

The problem I often see with people that go straight to foil from twintip is that they learn to foil fine but they struggle to learn to jibe and switching feet and eventually they get fed up of having to completely stop and waterstart each time. While for people with a background using directional b...

They replaced it with a new fish type board.

Re: Keep trying...or part ways ?

As the Duotone wing is bigger it has more lift so I suggest trying mounting the foil more backward or moving you feet forward. In this way you'll stand on top of the center of lift and you'll have more control.

Re: Gong kites reviews and tests

Thanks for the review, I am interested in a Gong kite but can't decide between de Unik 10.2 or the Strutless 10. Reading at the specs they do pretty much the same. I want it to foil in 10-15 knots and surf in +15 kt. Regards! If you are going to use the kite more often in less than 10 knots then go...

Re: Kiteboard Gong Lethal

I tried last year's Gong Catch 5'2''. It's on the heavy side but it seems durable and well built. I love the FCSII fin system. It goes very well upwind and the board has a nice pop for jumps. Unfortunately I tried it only on flat water so I can't say about how well it does on the surf with such a lo...

Re: Sliding spreader bars

It makes riding toeside significantly easier. It's great on surfboard too as you have more freedom of movement you can project more energy to your turns. The downsides are: - Wear and tear on the rope. You have to keep an eye on it and replace it periodically. - I imagine boosting on a sliding sprea...

Re: Why not more canards ?

Hey Peter, that's also my setup and I'm very happy with it. I removed the stock pad from my Mini Pocket and installed a surf pad with a kicker and the most important thing is making sure that my rear foot which I put on the kicker is exactly above the rear wing as that's the big wing which drives th...

I just ordered the Gong M size surf foil for kite surfing. I'll post my findings here once I got it out on the water.

I have my eye on that foil too. I'm curious to know your opinion after you ride it.
