Re: Pivot 7m or 8m sizing advive

I have both 8 & 10 Pivots but they are 2019 & 2020 versions.

I weigh 100kg and ride strapless boards. I sometimes think that they are a bit close in size as there is only 4 knots difference in bottom end between them.

Re: duotone nugget vs pro fish in light wind

Heya Kattiegreen, I have both a 5.3 Nugget and a 2021 5'5 Duotone Pro Fish and weigh in at a 100 pies. Some seem to say that the new Fish is a replacement for the Nugget.... its not. I take both boards down the beach with me. If the wind is good I usually jump on the Fish and if underpowered or if t...

Re: What influences going upwind

I've only been kiting for 16 years so.... in my experience lots of factors effect upwind. Experience, conditions (chop/currents/wind strength), board, kite (design & size), where the kite is placed (high/low) and body weight are all contributing factors in getting up wind. I've also found different ...

Re: Reduce wind noise and ear protection

I had the Surf Ears when they first came out ($70 AUD) and persisted with them for 6 months. I found they leaked and moved. Once water got in the sound was greatly reduced anyway. I guess hydrophobic mesh wasn't as water proof as advertised. I see they are now are up to version 3.0, hopefully they a...

Re: Reduce wind noise and ear protection

Surf ears work ok, but I found docs pro plugs better in my experience... but that could be just me.

Re: Reduce wind noise and ear protection

Doc’s pro plugs seem the best I have used, and I have tried a lot.
