Re: Slingshot UFO

My impression is SS is having to play catch up on what they have in the line up now. If this kite continues to have the fan base that I think it will, I would not be at all surprised to see some sizes added for next summer. If they add a 4 I am all over it, as would many others I think. Brilliant ki...

Re: Slingshot UFO

^^^ Agreed. I actually wrote a letter last week to SS asking them to consider adding a 4 ufo to the stable. 4-->5 is a 25% increase which is pretty spot on I think. For foiling I can't see using the 9 much in Hood River. The 7 gets me up and going in next to nothing. Brilliant low end; top end is li...

Re: Slingshot UFO

Both the Clouds and UFO’s are very prevalent in Hood River. Granted it’s a windy place, but I don’t see folks having relaunch issues on either. I’m on the water a lot and I would notice it. I do not want to get into Cloud vs UFO or any other strutless that will cone to market. What I can say is they...

Re: Foot swolen after intensive 2 weeks - anyone suffered the same problem?

I bought a "Thera-gun" knock off for the tendonitis in my elbow (under $100). Best thing I have ever done. I gun the sore tendons daily to get blood going in there. World of difference--truly.

Re: Slingshot UFO

^^^

I assumed as much as well, until I flew the UFO. Different animal. I'd go 5/7 for foiling.

Re: Slingshot UFO

I was out on 5 ufo on foil (683 wing) from 2:20--4:30. Feeling like I wanted more power for tacks at 4:30. Came in and switched to 7 ufo. Felt a bit over powered in the gusts but fun and very enjoyable. Could have easily stayed on 5m in retrospect. The 7 ufo is truly a light wind kite imo--light win...

Re: Slingshot UFO

More 7m UFO range data to share: I launched from the Event Site (BOTTOM CHART) at exactly 1:15. Dove the kite and was well powered and headed up wind immediately to the Hatchery (TOP CHART) until 3:30, at which point I was too over powered to enjoy the kite. Rigged a 5 ufo was well powered and was o...

Re: Slingshot UFO

I have had my 7m ufo in gusts to 23/24 mph. Gusts are doable, but not ideal. My formula currently is wind averaging 13-17 mph = 7 ufo, 18-25 mph = 5 ufo, 26-30 mph = 5 sst, 31-->35 = 4 sst. In these averages if there are big spikes and wind is at top end of average I am likely to size down. The low ...
