Re: High wind hydrofoiling

Also a Gorge foiler. My quiver is basically 4/5/6 SST on 20m lines and SS 633 with 105cm mast. I use the 5m most often. Lighter winds, under 20 mph, are really fun, but we just don't get a lot of that here. Normal is 15-30 mph, with lots of 20-40 days.

Re: My beliefs have changed.

^^^ Yeah, my younger son picked up foiling in about 50 minutes. After two hours he was switching feet on foil in the middle of the choppy Columbia River on a 91 cm mast. I had been working on that for weeks. He told me, "I don't know, just switch your feet..." Day 4 he is sitting on foilboard, small...

Re: sanding sharp edges on Moses mast and wings

Sand them. 400 grit perpendicular to make a flat trailing edge. One buddy even used a coin as an outline and completely rounded the wing tips. Told me wing feels the same, just safer. Another friend did the same to his 590. I sanded my 633 and stab trailing edge and sanded the wingtips to be a littl...

< <I had to sit out a few months last season because of tendonosis of the brachialis due, in no small part, to learning this maneuver.>>

Yep, that's what did me in. Going to stick with two hands. I do my heel to toe tacks two handed, so should work out.

Re: Upwind 360 and 180 carves from toeside

Is there a lot of back foot push/drive needed to get the board through the eye of the wind? I tried several last year, and that was an issue for me.

Getting ready to try again this season. Can these be done two-hands on the bar? Would be better for my tendons, if so.

Re: Stopper Ball and Foiling

I cut the stopper ball off of both of my bars. Much better for foiling IMO.

Re: Kites available in sizes smaller than 4m?

I looked at the graph today after work and went mtb in Post Canyon instead of foiling. So strange, as I used to LIVE for days like this, and mtb in medium to light winds. Just the reverse now. I keep saying I need to get back on my directional on big swell/wind days, but every time I do, I am all, "...
