Kiteboard grab handle insert distance

Hey everyone, Gio Mancuso here. I have a question, followed by a proposition. 😉 First of all, could anyone tell me the distance between grab handle inserts on Cabrinha kiteboards? And since we're on the subject, I figured we could turn this topic into a little easy-to-find repository for grab handle...

Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice!

Well, like you said, nothing happened BECAUSE the wind was very light, and while it's no excuse to be off your guard, we do generally understand light wind conditions as safer. I can, however, think of at least 3 exceptions where light winds are more dangerous than strong winds: offshore winds, big ...

Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice!

Since we're on the subject, I had a recent experience I think is worth sharing, and it relates to non violent communication. I asked another kiter, who clearly wasn't a beginner, to launch my kite. He did 2 thing no experienced kiter should ever do: 1. He didn't wait for my signal to launch. 2. He t...

That's outrageous! Was it in Fortaleza? I've never heard of anything like that! Glad to hear you're OK. Like you said, it could have turned out really bad!

Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice!

Hey rjkritzer, It's hard to imagine what exactly happened during your safety release that caused lines to get tangled, especially if you were in control and were popping the release for practice. Theoretically, if your bar isn't twisted and your center lines aren't twisted around each other, there s...

Re: Cabrinha's new kite - AV8

I flew a 14 Velocity back to back with a 14AV8 on a hydrofoil. Bar pressure was much less with the AV8. Boost and hang time was far superior on the AV8 as well. The AV8 is a touch slower than the Velocity and also has a little less low end. I have been flying Apollos as my go-to kite for hydrofoil ...

Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice!

First of all, and this might be a surprise for many, we in Australia do NOT launch standing from the shore side. That got me big time in Europe. As seen on the podiatanapraia vid, the kiter launches standing from the shore. Instead, the kiter should be standing in the water, if lofted, it would end...
