Re: Duotone D/LAB Surfboard Range

Duotone News: …The RMF also boasts key technical benefits including the magical property of memory. If you land hard from your freestyle tricks and put a small dent in the deck, it will over time gradually push the dent out to its original shape and your board will stay looking like new for longer....

Re: Why you should be ready to release? That's why...

Bad launcher imo. A good launcher isn't just there to let go, they're responsible for walking the kite into position, feeling the forces on the kite as they do so, which is why only an experienced kiter should be launching, not the girlfriend. At the beginning of the video, the kiter is seen trying...

Team Best

Anyone know how this works? https://www.bestkiteboarding.com/team-best/ I thought Best wasn’t around anymore. Their site is all in euros too. Anyone recently purchase BEST in the US? I’m no mega loop big air narcissist and not gonna pretend to be. I do like the idea of getting “team” discounts to fe...

Re: Kitesurfer dies after slamming into wall of home in Fort Lauderdale

At most Toby on his 18m in 25 knots of smooth wind might bruise his thumb while spinning the board. If you get caught up in the same kind of overflow boundary/gust front as this guy in florida it won't matter what size kite you are on, you are going to be in trouble. No disrespect to Toby. He’s bee...

I can tell its an old video because in '21 the title would have been: "Skinny dip gone wrong, almost died because he grabbed my rod"

Re: Kitesurfer dies after slamming into wall of home in Fort Lauderdale

Lets try that. You can launch on the beach as you can see at the start of the vid. But not when the tide is in. ps, not in between, around powerlines, between powerlines and building. https://vimeo.com/81126999 Doesn’t look as bad as I thought. Looks like a nice grassy field with room for error. Th...

Re: Kitesurfer dies after slamming into wall of home in Fort Lauderdale

Rather than wasting time and audience attention with converting mph to kts, why don't we discuss the time he needed to analyze and assess the situation and hit the QR? It takes an average person 1 second to hit the car brakes after seeing the danger. With both hands on the bar of an overpowered kit...

Re: Kitesurfer dies after slamming into wall of home in Fort Lauderdale

Probably 90% of the time. I launch in a field behind the surf club. Then you have to get the kite to 12 to get out of the surf club building directly upwind, walk inbetween power lines and a building not too dissimilar to the one in the video, across a road and car park and down a walk way to the b...

above 35 knots its all dangerous anyway.
Kiteboarding is dangerous. It becomes less dangerous with experience and by experience it includes understanding weather, wind speed, kite size, surroundings, etc.

Kiting in 35kts with a 6m is safer than kiting in 20kts with a 14m the way I see it.
