Re: Do Peak4 kites work with waveboards?

Riding Down The Line was great, felt soooo much more free, could stay high on the wave if I wanted to, easy, just surf along DTL, or make powered high speed lay down bottom turns, if I wanted to (the last is the only option almost, with tubes) A high level of freedom added :thumb: That is what for ...

Re: Do Peak4 kites work with waveboards?

I am not totally convinced with single skins on surfboards. Their lack of performance is ok on an hydrofoil but it is a bit too painful on a strapless surfboard, although they are great in the surf. Waves have more wind range, are easier to deal with upwind, more linear, etc ...but less drift than s...

Re: Concept Air Smart Wave 6.5 & 4.5 & 3 and now 8.5

Mayby you simply have too much depower length? The wave depowers through a change in shape so you might give it too much front lines release in strong gusty conditions?

Re: Best hydrofoil wave kite: ConceptAir Firefly vs. Flysurfer Peak 4

@stefFZ are there more images or videos or Marc's recent wave riding style (with and without bar holding) than the ones you already posted? Thanks for these nice teaser. merci The only one I have was at the end of a session from the car ... a crappy video in crappy waves (which is certainly not rep...

Re: Best hydrofoil wave kite: ConceptAir Firefly vs. Flysurfer Peak 4

As for me and strapless surfing with a surfboard (not a freestyle surfboard)... I have tried 4 and 6m in the waves. The drift is impressive, it is just about surfing, you don't need to pilot the kite .. it's almost as you have no kite. Right now, however I am not sure I am ready to let go all the ot...

Re: Best hydrofoil wave kite: ConceptAir Firefly vs. Flysurfer Peak 4

Do you know if Marc also goes unhooked in waves as I have seen in his lightwind video in a small bay and does he uses normal chickenloop setups? He has his leash on the CL, he unhooks, lets the kite go and surfs the wave. He doesn't use the bar while surfing with his FFs. When he goes out of the wa...

Re: Best hydrofoil wave kite: ConceptAir Firefly vs. Flysurfer Peak 4

As far as I remember, Marc uses surf/Sup hydrofoils around 1400 cm2 combined with Fireflies 1.5; 2.5, 4 and 6. As for the mast I don't know as I not really interested in hydrofoiling :-) ... this sort of waves are for strapless surfing for me to be able to stay in the pocket :-) This said, Marc is r...

Re: Launching in strong winds

It wasn't staying in the cobra for very long probably due to the gusty conditions. So I flew it slowly to 12, however it was sitting so far back in the wind window it was pulling me along the beach (surfing on my flipflops). I guess more pre inflation is the answer. Yes it is. The more you are in t...
