Re: Wingsurfing - Intel - forum topic?

The first comment on Instagram say it all: "60l! Wow, it must be great once he pops up!" Hoping to pick up a new foilboard in the next few days..... pretty sure the craftsman building it said it was in the 9L range volume wise. Weighs 2.1 kg. In 12 knots loads of kitefoilers can pop straight up to f...

Re: Foiling in the dark

Never done it on water, but used to do it on snow all the time. If there is any moon, the reflection off the snow makes it all pretty bright. Usually you can see your lines all the way to the kite.

Re: The Naish Wing-Surfer

I think you have to look at perspective. If I were a SUP person who was watching all this foil evolution from the sidelines and then someone comes out with a wing that could get me foiling, but I don't even have to buy the foil, I can just tip toe my way in with the wing first...… I'd be all in. As ...

Re: Is it just me or does pumping a foil...

Mentioned it in another thread and though it makes sense here too, that pumping is a really useful skill that can will help you progress in a lot of different ways. Learning to pump out of what would otherwise be a failed maneuver is super gratifying. Using it stay on a swell and really get the foil...

Re: Flying footswitch learning time

Good point on the stance width. That's definitely a factor.

Great example of a wave cresting foot switch at 1:40, then the tutorial oat 3:10.

Re: Flying footswitch learning time

To keep this current, in addition to a bigger wing, practice pumping and watch the video of Greg Drexler’s young niece, you want to get comfy with moment of unweighting the rear foot. Pumping is basically just that and it introduces the concept of rhythm so you realize it’s a quick move done on the ...

Re: Is it just me or does pumping a foil...

Everything Philippe Caneri does is cool! And if its not really, he does it in a local that makes up for it an so comes out being cool in the end. I'm amazed at how well pumping is going. Super extended !! Love the feeling of throwing a pump in here and there, and add it into a lot of tight little ca...

Re: DIY wing covers?

My first covers were simply harvested limbs from old decommissioned wetsuits. Each limb made a cover. Simply tie off, or if you must, sew the ends shut and cut out a hole in the center. Works great. Have also used foam padding cut to size and then a solid full coat of duct tape. Eventually my pride ...

Re: The future is big wing and small kite.

I don't know the exact size of the wing, close to 1200 cm, pretty low aspect, 82 cm mast, pocket board, I weigh 80 kg. Slill trying to decide which small kites I like best. Have a few 6m's a 7 and a couple 8m's but generally go straight to a strutless 8.5 in lighter wind. Today I was on a 6m Ocean R...

The future is big wing small kite.

Makes lemons into lemonade! Just rode a bit of 15 gusting 30, side side off, really really gusty inside, and it was pretty low stress and easy with parts that were super fun. The swell on the outside were great, it was easy to get there and back, the gusts and holes were pretty easy to navigate on a...
