Re: Unhooked foiling

Trim in to avoid stall. Mostly for playing around in one spot or carving downswell. Hook back in to make decent ground upwind.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

You should try the 8 on long lines. I disagree with earlier opinions discounting them on the Peak. Have had enough time at the low end of the 5 to know long lines with stall trimmed out makes getting up and transitions way easier at the low end. Probably won’t make it fun like the 5, but likely help...

Re: Unhooked foiling

It’s great, after years with no trim or chicken loop, I have a bar specifically for unhooking again. Have foiled unhooked with 5m and 7m Solo and 5m peak. Better on the peak, but great on tubes too. If you wanna fly the kite and try and go upwind it’s best in the lower half of the kites range. If yo...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

No idea bout the 8. After my last session on the 5, I have no real interest in a "bigger" kite. Finally got a chance to try the long line set up (27m). Even in the dips below 10 knots getting up was a no brainer. I really expected to have to do multiple loops, but the massive arc those long lines gi...

Re: Does a wakeboard work for kiteboarding?

Only if your really powered up, then they are loads of fun. Tons of pop. Problem is they generally have too much rocker to be very efficient at planing, so they are super power hungry and go don’t go upwind worth a crap. Fun in a slick on The right day, but not a daily driver. If your new to the spo...

Re: Moses 483 stab can it be reshaped?

If you hit the foam core, it can't be that hard to seal it properly. Maybe a layer of glass. If I were to shave down a stab, I would look to reduce overall surface area more than simply span. You can pretty easily eyeball how far in to the tips and TE you can go before its likely you hit any foam. B...

Re: Single Skin Boosting Kite?

I don't mean to misrepresent. I am not jumping high at all. I am doing strapless airs and not really using the kite for boost at all, more needing the kite to take my weight on landing to foil out. Definitely not sending the kite or getting any sort of hang time. Sorry, not likely the feedback you w...

Re: Single Skin Boosting Kite?

I have no idea, but suspect that the open underside with all its internal fabric support for the bridle is pretty drag enducing. This is not a kite that flies very far forward in the window. Not a kite I would really have any interest in if I wasn't using it with a hydrofoil. BUT with a hydrofoil, u...

Re: 15m Strutless

Have a couple strutless and a few single strut kites. I would say that 15m is bigger than ideal in the strutless platform. They really suit the smaller sizes best. They just get so flexible and wobbly in anything over 9m. They also tend to get overpowered relatively early. You are bigger than me so ...

Swim out easy launch is not trivial.
