Re: Foil board as directional? Anyone tried it?

You can't fit a 120cm foilboard in there too? My wife and I both kite so we have two sets of gear. The bus is stacked. Alien air's an odd choice for the super space conscious! That thing is pretty big by foil board standards. You'll do well to sell it once you get the basics. You'll get enough room...

Re: Foil board as directional? Anyone tried it?

Yeah, you could put windsurfing fins in the tracks, but your missing the point. The shape of the rails, the thickness the position of those fins, its all wrong for use as a board without the foil.... and not in a trivial way. If you want a dual purpose board, there are a variety of options out there...

Re: Who are the foilers?

Looking at development, kiteboarding, racing in particular was the catalyst for pretty much all the other branches. The French did the lions share of the work. We all owe them thanks. Foiling would not be a surf discipline if it hadn't been for them. Laird was foiling waves way before it caught fire...

Re: Opinion on Line Lengths for Foiling Large Format Wings with LEI

Whats your big kite? Usually ride 21m for most kiting, but have been using longer for my biggest kite to foil. Upsizing wings in hopes of ditching the longer lines.... and maybe even the bigger kite. Have foiled with 17m but only on a 6m in plenty of wind. Never really enough to get used to it like ...

Re: Importance of a lightweight kite for non-foiling

But one strut or no strut has no direct relationship to kite weight. Seriously? Your going with that? Clouds are the lightest LEIs on the market by a decent margin, The Gong and other strutless are all amongst the the very lightest of lei kites. Kiting is always a sucker for a trend and companies j...

Re: Importance of a lightweight kite for non-foiling

Weight is not only about staying in the air, but also how responsive a kite is in low winds. Any kite will fly in 10 knots of steady breeze, but they don't all fly well. The lighter kites of the last few years are more fun to fly than heavier 5 strut kites. Most three strut kites are pretty good, bu...

Re: Magnet Wax

Plain old sticky bumps. A good double density coat with hard on the bottom can last a good long while if you keep it out of the hot car. Love a bit of the really sticky stuff (I've only used punt wax) for those perfect punting days, but it ruins the wax job underneath in no time. Don't find it loses...
