Re: foil attached to twintip

Some twin tips are pretty soft. As mentioned, I would look for wood core stiff boards. I think the Xcalibur is wood core and generally one of their stiffer freestyle/wakestyle boards. Drill and seal with epoxy when you put the stainless T nuts in. Always a good idea to check if the board will float ...

Re: The Duotone Wing

Dude! Did you just post a pic of a guy carrying the gear on the beach as an example of a cool wingsurf shot?

Re: The Duotone Wing

Cant argue there. Most home grown kite media...… riding, is lack lustre for third party viewing. Fun is fun, but I really needed to see potential in Kite foiling to have any interest. The race stuff that was first prevalent is as bland to me today as it was then. Like I said, when someone rips a nic...

Re: The Duotone Wing

But what part of that actually looks like fun? I mean, I guess there are those that like to run, and those that like to paddle, but as a wind driven sport it just seems like the worst possible option! No, not saying you have to give anything up. Just noting that looking at that video the only thing ...

Re: Best ultra-lightwind hydrofoil

Peter Frank is your man on this one. Wings.... he has em all.

There is a thread he started about a large area higher aspect wing that is a light wind killer. I'll try and find it.

Found it:

Re: The Duotone Wing

So, who here honestly feels tempted by any part of that video for those conditions (15+ knots open water ) ?

We get that it works by now. No need for proof of concept. Now you gotta make it look enticing.

Fail.

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

We can revisit in a couple years time and see just where we're at. My mention of strutless kites as they are currently on the market was to highlight the conservative nature of the current big kite companies. They wont even really venture outside their comfort zone with existing materials when there...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

?? Stagnate? Would think that improvements in materials can only lead to opening additional avenues for development. How's that? The stuff is stronger, and that's it. Why don't you give your thoughts about why the big brands just happened to miss this new development? Why did the big brands miss th...

Re: Slingshot Raptor kite

I know there is so much more to it, and they may feel completely different, but the new raptor looks pretty similar in shape to the Elevate line of kites. Nothing against windfoiling. I kinda like to see windsurfing guys back on the water, but every time a kite company moves to cash in on the windfo...
