Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

How can you see the tip drainage? Looking at the pics from the shots Adventure logs had up it looks to me like the orange battens extend much further back into the canopy which would definitely account for less flapping. I take the materials marketing speak with a grain of salt. Excited to see the e...

Re: High Aspect wing hype not for kiting?

wingspan directly impacts roll resistance and along with mast length impacts how fast you can go rail to rail and how much roll you can achieve before venting. Most are after roll over yaw for carving fun. As kiters were lucky we can tap into the kite for instant torque and lift. Were like the rally...

Re: Tips for riding kite foil board upside down to get out of the shallows

Would be super sick if it worked! I ride a pretty flat board and wear shoes which makes it fairly sure footed on the bottom of the board…….Still useless for me. Tried it for a nano second in open water way back, but due to relatively small kite sizes, there was barely enough power to get up let alon...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Porosity might not equate quite the same. Wouldn’t the main issues with porosity in a CC kite be loss of internal pressure leading to potential shape change while flying and water ingress when crashed where SS don’t have internal pressure except the tip cells and water ingress is already a moot poin...

Re: how long does it take for kite canopy to show signs of use?

For sure there are factors such as local conditions, the specific kite design and type of fabric that have an effect on the deterioration due to exposure to wind when on the ground. But I believe nobody will maintain that leaving a kite on the ground flapping is good for the kite. Just look at a fl...

Re: Insane - World Lowest MegaLoop

Disagree.

Like riding giants or massive strapless grabless airs in real waves, this is a pure display of nerve and skill.

Respect to those that dare.

Loads of us have had a cold long swim to drive that point home! Like Slappy says. Dress for the swim, not the ride.

Re: What is your cold water red line, measured in Celsius?

Have had water and snow days back to back before. Rare and novelty, but its happened. Have also ridden water in every month of the year. Jan and Feb were both fluke 12 degree days, but walking over ice and snow to the water was pretty novelty. Don't think I'll do those again, but at 50 years old, No...
