Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Last minute trip to join Anthony was a good time! Somebody driving by pulled over and took a bunch of pictures with a real camera, putting our usual cel phone pictures to shame. Pretty cool to have park-and-ride access this late in June, and only one or two rocks peeking out (although the signs/post...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Yeah, I would if I could too. Thanks for the heads up though Scott. Would love to another time.

Re: Upgrading chickenloop on 5-line Ozone

Thanks, so it sounds like I'm not dangerously way off in putting it together. It makes sense, but I'm slowly wrapping my brain around the idea that maybe a pulley is a pulley, and as long as the lengths line up and the 5th line moves freely, it should be good. Maybe add some extensions if needed. Th...

Upgrading chickenloop on 5-line Ozone

Hello, I’m upgrading my chickenloop from an older “pull” to a bigger “push” release. But I’d love some extra eyeballs and any pointers how to reconnect everything, please. This is an 8m Ozone Access foil from, I think, 2013ish. It has a 5th safety line (but not the re-ride because it’s older than th...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Yes, good day at BigMac, and great meeting PDCK. I didn’t cover nearly as much ground, but had fun and skied some nice snow. It was about as windy as I’d like for the kite I had (especially up top), and I wrapped up happy to leave in one piece after I heard it was gusting over by US Basin and seeing...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Kite jumping how did you take that video? Saw no connection to your body but the video seemed to come from directly behind you. Kite? Speed 21? Back in town boys and girls. Hit the Grand Mesa this afternoon. Hitting it again tomorrow. Anybody up for it? Stupid light winds the Soul is still the answ...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Just noticed that as well and I'm interested, but not sure how much time I'll have. Might meet up there and just bail when it's time to go

Re: Tear repair

Thanks all! Just to be safe, I ordered some ripstop sail tape, and it should get here before I use that kite again, so I'll give that a try. Good to know that Tear-Aid can work in a pinch though. I'm not gonna say I've never used Tear-Aid on LEI material... but just small tears. This one's bigger th...

Tear repair

I have a 2 inch tear with an angle, and have never fixed a foil kite before. Can I just use Tear-Aid Type A to do it? If it's good enough, I don't care how it looks. I got this used, and don't have a patch kit. It's an Ozone Access from 2013 or so. I also have another Access of about the same age, a...

Re: Making Turns?

Just coming back to say thanks again. Snuck off earlier this week for a quick session making turns downwind (or 45ish degrees). Sometimes "following the kite," skiing directly toward it, with relatively quick turns to keep tension. Before, I was always trying to make turns sideways or upwind. These ...
