In an ideal world manufacturers would publish their bridle drawings and amendment states on a website. Then you could easily check your bridle. Instead of relying on side to side comparison etc.

Ref my post a moment ago. I had problems with the 2nd attachment. Hre it is

Re: Problems with incorrectly set bridles

IMG_0001.jpg CS_BRIDLE HYDRA 2.pdf IMG_0001.jpg A 250mm difference means that the bridle element is entirely wrong. If you have flown kites you will know that 25mm of pull on the flying lines will cause sufficient asymmetry to make the kite turn. 1 element of a bridle effectively missing may well m...

Re: Problems with incorrectly set bridles

I measured the length of the 8 bridles strands on each side of the canopy ( from the tow point to the junction with the blue and red lines that link to the control bar.) Surprisingly, there are differences in length between the same strands on the right side and the left side. These differences are m...

Re: Problems with incorrectly set bridles

Herman thanks for your feedback. I went out today. Winds about 10 knts gusting. The kite lifted off better after fixing the bridles, but it still keeps veering to one side and falling. At one point it went straight up all the way, Strong pull, but the same story.I try to stop the kite from veering to...

Re: Problems with incorrectly set bridles.

Thanks for your feedback To be precise, it was strand A, with the tow point closest to the middle of the kite at the far right ( arm 2) , that was intertwined between strands E, F of Arm 1. I believe this is also the longest strand. If it is deviated to the left by passing between (and under ) stran...

Problems with incorrectly set bridles

I have just bought a 4.2 m2 closed cell training kite, which I have difficulties in flying . The manufacturer's documentation claims it can fly in 4 knt winds. Mine won't fly even in 12 knts. The orientation to the wind is correct, but the kite either remains lifeless on the ground or it lifts off 1...

Re: Closed cell kite remains deflated

Thanks Jakemore.
I'll look into the Ryobi portable inflater. I hope there is an adapter to fit the inflater tube into the kite's inlet vent as close as possible, to minimize air loss.
The vent is about 8"x 5"with a mesh at the entrance.

Closed cell kite remains deflated

I had posted this issue on another thread for L.E.I's but somebody suggested to open a new thread. I have a brand new closed cell 4 m2 training kite which inflates only partially ( about 30% I guess) through the inlet valve , even when the wind is 12 knts or more and doesn't take off or, if it does....

Re: Inflation

Is the kite a LEI (leading edge inflatable) or a closed cell ram air? It sounds like it is a closed cell ram air. If so, try inflating it with a leaf blower on low setting. If it does not inflate properly, then check the cells for any blockage. Could be manufacturing defect or something left in one...

Re: Inflation

I have a brand new closed cell 4 m2 training kite which inflates only partially through the inlet valve , even when the wind is 12 knts or more , however rare it may be.. The kite flutters like a rag, it lifts off a few feet in the air at best and crashes to the the ground always veering to the righ...
